bee rescue is not just simply remove a bee colony and relocate to another place. It is important to make sure the method use in removing the bees does not compromise the colony's health and reduce the colony survival rate. Nutrinest use the natural method and you can see from the video how calm and natural the bees are inside the holder. There is no point proof to other how experience one's is by removing bees without wearing protective gear but on the other hand subpressing the bees responding capability by using tricks that induce stress to the bees.
True bee rescue should put the bees well being as the top priority to making sure after the colony ia rehomed, they can do well in the new location! #91474065

How do you find a beehive that has remained hidden for months?

This colony had been established inside a concealed part of a school structure for a long time. The school had been dealing with recurring bee activity for several months, but they hadn't pinpointed the exact nest location.

After Nutrinest was engaged, we studied the bees’ flight direction and behavior. We located the concealed hive in under an hour.

Finding the hive was only the first step. The removal required more than knowledge about bees. It involved safe work at height, proper boom lift operation, creating controlled access to the concealed space, managing the colony, clearing the hive material and reinstating the structure afterward.

For this particular removal, Nutrinest did not use sugary water, smoke, or a vacuum. We relocated the colony while minimizing unnecessary stress.

Why was it important to remove the entire hive?

If you spray only the visible bees, dead bees, brood, wax, honey, and possibly pesticide residue may remain inside the roof. Depending on the conditions, these materials can produce odors, leak, or attract other pests.

A responsible bee removal should resolve the immediate concern without leaving a new problem hidden inside the building.

Watch Buzzy the Bee guide you through the process, then share your view:

Would you prefer the bees to be sprayed, or the colony to be carefully relocated and the space properly cleared and repaired?

BUZZY’S SECRET HOME ABOVE A FALSE CEILING

A colony of bees had moved into the space above a false ceiling in a Singapore home.

To reach the hidden colony safely, Nutrinest carefully created an access opening. Once the ceiling was opened, the homeowner could see just how large the colony had become.

For this removal, Nutrinest chose a natural handling approach. We did not spray the bees with sugary water, use smoke or collect them with a vacuum.

Bees rely on communication and coordinated movement. Our aim was to avoid unnecessary stress while relocating the colony and resolving the problem safely for the homeowner.

After the removal, the bees were given time to reunite outside. Seeing them gather together again was an important part of the process.

However, our responsibility did not end when the bees left.

Opening a false ceiling may be necessary to reach a hidden nest, but leaving the opening unrepaired would simply replace one problem with another. The space was checked and cleared before the ceiling opening was closed properly.

Bees safely moved. Home properly restored.

This is how Nutrinest approaches humane bee removal in Singapore. We consider the wellbeing of the colony, the safety of the people living nearby and the condition of the property after the work is completed.

If you discover bees inside your ceiling, roof or wall, avoid disturbing the colony. Send Nutrinest a clear photo or video so we can understand the situation before advising you.

What would concern you most if bees moved into your ceiling?

🐝 FROM AN INDUSTRIAL CABLE REEL TO HONEY RESEARCH

A colony of bees chose a very unusual place to build its nest: inside a large industrial cable reel in Singapore.

Instead of destroying the colony, Nutrinest carried out a humane bee removal and relocation. Some of the rescued honeycomb was preserved together with information about where it was found, the bee species and when it was harvested.

Why are these details important?

Honey can vary according to bee species, location, available plants, climate and harvest conditions. A honey sample with a documented history can therefore become a useful traceable reference sample for research.

The honeycomb was brought to a meeting with NUS student researcher Gabriel and Dr Linda. The research explores how tools such as spectroscopy and chemometric analysis can compare patterns found in different honey samples.

Sounds chim, but the purpose is meaningful. A reliable honey reference library may help researchers understand the characteristics of authentic honey and investigate possible adulteration in the future.

One sample alone cannot determine whether a commercial honey product is authentic. This video documents a student research collaboration and does not represent product certification or an endorsement by NUS.

For Nutrinest, bee conservation does not stop after a successful rescue. Protecting bees also means working with researchers, environmental experts and the community to build a more supportive and sustainable ecosystem.

That is real kampung spirit for conservation. 🐝🌱🍯

What would you like researchers to investigate about the honey sold in Singapore?

Clone of the way to coexisting with bees, share food source! Bees are not a vector of disease and they dobt spread gems. That is why honeycomb can eat raw just yhat the bees are really persistenece in foraging food. Thry are so cute!

Most people think bee removal is simple:
Smoke them, spray them, vacuum them, cage the queen… done.

But what really happens to the bees during the process?

🐝 How much stress can a colony take?
🐝 When does “helping” become over-interfering?
🐝 Why do some relocated colonies fail while others thrive?

In this article, I break down the hidden impact behind common bee removal methods — from sugary water spraying to bee vacuums — and compare them with more natural, conservation-focused approaches used in Singapore.

A sneak peek into the deeper side of Beekeeping 101:
understanding bee behaviour, colony psychology, and why humane relocation is more than just “saving bees.”

Only for serious bee lovers, conservationists, and those who truly want to understand bees beyond social media highlights.
