Over three weekends, Stamford Arts Centre came alive with stories, music, dance and shared experiences at A Date with Tradition 2026. 💛

Students from NAFA Gamelan brought Stories and Shadows: Gamelan and Wayang Kulit to life, Bhaskar’s Arts Academy took us on Journey to the West (Kathakali), and Ding Yi Music Company filled the space with Chinese Music of Myths. Audiences also stepped into the experience through hands-on workshops and participatory performances, from trying their hand at the Chinese opera horse-whip workshop by Traditional Arts Centre to joining Era Dance Theatre for Denyut Warisan (The Shared Pulse).

Whether you came with a love for traditional arts or discovered something new along the way, thank you for being there. Here’s to the moments, connections and traditions we shared. ✨

We are delighted to welcome Jaclyn Lim as our Arts House Literary Fellow, joining us in residence at The Arts House at the Old Parliament from September to November 2026. 📚✨

A finalist for the Epigram Books Fiction Prize 2026 with her debut novel A Strange Case of Erasure, Jaclyn joins a growing community of Arts House Literary Fellows. Through this residency, she will be able to advance her creative practice, engage with fellow artists and writers, and forge new connections across Singapore's literary and creative landscape. ✍️🤝

"The Arts House Literary Fellowship arrives at a creative crossroads in my writing. I'm grateful for the time, space and mentorship to grow, and for the opportunity to contribute to our regional literary landscape,” says Jaclyn.
Looking forward to the next chapter in Jaclyn’s literary journey! 🌟
