It was great to see our seniors come back to mingle, connect, and share the real-world wisdom they’ve gathered since their own days in our labs/tutorial room hallways (especially level 5)! Hearing your stories from the industry gives us so much inspiration as we transition from DIME to DCE. Thank you for coming home to show us exactly what it looks like to grow through years! 🌟✨

Themed "Once Upon a DIME", this special edition of the DIME End Semester on the 26 Feb 2026 marked a meaningful milestone, celebrating a decade of creativity, growth, and collaboration. Over the past 10 years, we had presented 20 showcases that reflected the passion, talent, and dedication of our students, staff, and industry partners who journeyed with us along the way.

The celebration not only looked back on the stories and achievements that shaped DIME, but also looked ahead to new possibilities. As part of the showcase, MOUs were signed with 4 industry partners, reaffirming our shared commitment to deepen collaboration and create even more opportunities for our students to learn, grow and engage meaningfully with industry.

Our learners embarked on a learning journey to the National Quantum Computing Hub (NQCH) last Friday. The visit offered valuable insights into the quantum computing landscape and how quickly the field is progressing. It was a meaningful reminder of the importance of continual learning and staying current as new developments emerge in this space.

Huge shoutout to our Diploma in Infocomm & Media Engineering (DIME) stars, Tessa Lee Xin Hui and Toh Jia Xin, for bagging 2nd Place at the NYP × Manus AI Mini-Hackathon! 🥈🔥

Competing as Team Nano Banana Pro, these two proved that DIME students don’t just learn about technology—they know how to weaponize it to solve real problems on the fly.

In a high-stakes 30-minute sprint, Tessa and Jia Xin went head-to-head with a real-world challenge from Poddster. Using the Manus autonomous AI agent, they built prototypes to:
🤖 Automate Guest Summaries: Making podcast prep a breeze.
📈 Extract Viral Hooks: Identifying the perfect snippets for TikTok and Reels.

What makes our students stand out? It’s the ability to bridge the gap between technical engineering and creative media. Pitching directly to Borko Kovacevic (Co-Founder of Poddster), they showed exactly what DIME is all about: speed, creativity, and the technical grit to win.

Roy Chng, our student, flew to Manila over the weekend to compete in Worldskills ASEAN 2025.

From 26 to 28 August 2025, he will showcase his skills in the Web Technologies trade, competing against other talented individuals.

Roy is driven by a passion for web technologies, problem-solving, and self-improvement, with a particular talent for building something from scratch while working under pressure.

Our best wishes to him and the DIME SG team for success in this competition!
