Dear Players of the World Championship,
here some important informations about tomorrow and the coming days:
A) The flight-schedules with the codes for the first two rounds are hanging out in the Tunnel between entrance and terrace.
We suggest to make a photo of your flight code to be prepared in case of internet or mobile problems.
Although we will call out the flights via speakers, be aware that you are completely responsible for being at the start in time! So please show up early enough that you don’t risk being disqualified for being too late!
B) Local rules: If you ball ends up on the terrace – it is out of bounce.
Apart from that we have drawn fresh starting lines from which – as usual – you can place it inside an imaginary rectangle up to two meters behind. “Inside” means that it if you would look from above on that rectangle, the ball needs to cover it with at least a piece – nothing new but worth to mention as we received some questions about the placing of the ball.
Apart from that we also have drawn fresh yellow out of bounce lines.
D) Playoff holes will be Premium 10, Premium 17 and Premium 18.
E) Umpires: The referees for the tournament will be Ändi Weidenegger, Florian Müller, Reinhard Pick, Toni Sipek (GER), Cedric Caruana (FRA) and Thommy Christiansen (DEN)
F) Payments: as a considerably high percentage of the players did not pay for food and drink, we need to remind you that the payments need to be done every evening before
you depart!
G) Parking: the course runner told us that today a lot of cars were parking with 2 meters distance to the next car! From tomorrow we kindly ask you to reduce this distance to approximately 1 meter so that really all cars will be able to park at the soccer park!
G) Practising: in the morning and evening training is allowed as long the course is not in use.
H) Smoking: Spots for smoking are at the terrace (hole 10 Premium and hole 10 Fun) – otherwise smoking is not permitted!
I) Nations Cup on Friday evening:
As the doubles second round will be finished by approximately 18:00 we have time to hold a Nations Cup afterwards which might start as early as 18:30.
We are estimating that at least 7 Nations will take part, and maybe the smaller nations will form an internation team so that we can directly start with a complete quarter final round.
While the details are not fully worked out, we can say ath the moment that the Nation Cup will be held in a Matchplay Modus and will be played both on Fun and Premium.
A team will consist of:
1 Single Men
1 Single Women (or Junior)
1 Senior (Man or Woman)
1 Double Men
1 Mixed (Man/Woman)
We kindly ask the National Associations to decide who is going to play for their nation.
Each category match will be about 6 holes in the quarter and semifinals and will go on with extra holes until it is decided.
By this every Nation-Cup-Match will have a winner (5:0, 4:1 or 3:2).
It is planned to make a draw before each round, determining the match opponents and which teams are playing on fun and which are playing on premium.
Depending on how much time there will be left until sunset we might decide that the finals (1/2) & (3/4) might go over 9 holes. We also consider that the loosers of the quarter finals will compete for the 5th place – depending on the willingness of these teams to do so.
Ok, that’s all for the moment – have yourself a nice evening.
Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow when the WC will finally start 😊
