Gästrike-Hälsinge Nation Choir is looking for a new conductor starting the Fall Semester 2026!
Do you want to conduct a fun, international choir in Uppsala?
Gästrike-Hälsinge Nation Choir is a mixed choir of around 40 members that rehearses once a week on Wednesdays (18:30-21:00). Our repertoire varies from traditional songs to contemporary music. The repertoire is very open and the conductor will, if so wished for, take part in deciding the songs. We are open to everyone and strive to be an international, multicultural, and inclusive choir. Although we do not hold auditions for new singers, we expect a high level of engagement from our members and aim for a high musical standard in our rehearsals and performances.
We are now looking for a conductor who wants to grow together with us and lead both rehearsals and performances at nation events as well as the choir’s own concerts. We are a social choir that loves performing just as much as we enjoy our weekly choir beers.
Experience in choir conducting is an advantage, but not a requirement. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, collaborative, and excited to help develop the choir together with us. As a conductor, you are not expected to lead the choir in any way except in conducting. The choir has a board who is responsible for the logistics and choir members.
The position begins at the start of the Fall Semester 2026 and is paid.

Gästrike-Hälsinge nationskör söker en ny dirigent från och med höstterminen 2026!
Vill du dirigera en rolig, internationell kör i Uppsala?
Gästrike-Hälsinge nationskör är en blandkör med omkring 40 medlemmar som repeterar en gång i veckan på onsdagar (18:30-21:00). Vår repertoar inkluderar allt från traditionella sånger till kontemporär musik. Repertoaren är väldigt varierad och om dirigenten så önskar, får de gärna vara med och bestämma sångerna som sjungs. Vi är öppna för alla och strävar efter att vara en internationell, mångfaldigt kulturell, inkluderande kör. Vi har inga auditions för nya korister, men vi siktar alltid att uppnå en hög musikalisk nivå i våra repetitioner och uppträdanden.
Vi söker nu en dirigent som vill utvecklas tillsammans med oss och leda både repetitioner och framträdanden på nationens event samt körens egna konserter. Vi är en social kör som älskar att uppträda lika mycket som vi uppskattar våra veckovisa köröl.
Erfarenhet av kördirigering är meriterande, men inget krav. Vi söker dig som är entusiastisk, samarbetsinriktad och vill vara med och utveckla kören tillsammans med oss. Som dirigent finns ingen förväntan att leda kören på något vis förutom dirigering. Kören har en styrelse som är ansvarig för logistiken och alla medlemmar.
Tjänsten börjar vid höstterminens start 2026 och är betald.
