Det är ett av livets stora privilegium, att få göra det lilla för att hjälpa mina vänner i östra Ukraina. De är de modigaste människorna i världen.
Ett rungande stort TACK, till alla er som på något sätt, ekonomiskt och praktiskt, bidragit till denna resa. Ni HAR gjort skillnad, vet det!
Resan var utmanande, förseningar pga av snöoväder, borttagna vägskyltar och ett mobilnät som stundom störde ut navigeringsmöjligheter, men till slt så.
2 st stora MIG-svetsar med tillbehör, div sjukvårdsutrustning, 100 stormkök, arbetslampor, 2 stora, 3 mellanstora och 5 mindre elverk, 16 dieselvärmare, 10 stora Ecoflows, stora batterimaskiner, tarpar 100 tjocka ulltröjor, 250 ribbstickade mössor, 50 ballaklavor, 50 bärsäck 2000, 200 varma strumpor, 50 par fodrade arbetshandskar, 75 oljelampor, 75 kaffepannor, 500 par paracord skosnören, 200 paracord fallskärmslinor, torrmat och dagsransoner, och lite annat smått och gott.
På hemsidan, standbyukraine.se kommer snart en mer utförlig berättelse om resan. Det var spänning, glädje, sorg och rädsla. Back to work.

Snart dax för nästa resa. Utöver kraftverk, kraftstationer och dieselvärmare, så tar vi med c:a 200 kaffepannor, 200 stormkök och 200 tältlyktor. Tänker att det varit kul att överlämna dessa saker tillsammans med kokkaffe, t-röd och lampolja. Var med och sponsra med 50 kronor, då kan vi köpa in så mycket som möjligt av detta 😊

Time and time again, I hear and read, from Russia and Ukrainaian antagonists, the arguing that there is already a peace deal, from april 2022, and that Ukraine could have had peace long ago if they only would have acceptet those russian demands. And in doing so, referring back to Istanbul meetings, and the fact that Ukraine rejected it, Russia tries to shift the blame for the continuation of the war, on Ukraine.
In the early days of the war, there was indeed discussions of ways to end the war. But the positions where so far away, and Russian demands so bizarre, that the prospect of a REAL solution, was not even remotely in sight.
And, no, Boris Johnson did NOT persuade Zelenskyj not to sign. I think most people would agree he’s a man that can make his own decisions, and besides, the meetings continued into April and May, after the last time Boris met with Zelenskyj.

Hers is a very brief summary of the russian denmands:
• Ukraine is to give up the 5 regions Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson and Crimea, and regognize them as part of the russian federation.
• To reinstate russian as state language in Ukraine.
• To implement laws targeting ukranian religion, history, culture and national identity.
• Demilitarization, a maximum of 50.000 soldiers and tight restrictions of armor and airforce.
• No Nato membership.
• No military bilateral alliances with any Western country.
• No foreign military aid.
• Russian veto over any international response to future attacks on Ukraine.
• Russian veto in Verkhovna Rada, the Ukranian parliament, to ALL Ukranine foreign policy decisions.

Agreeing to these terms would not have made Ukraine ”neutral” but ”neutralized”. It would have lost it’s sovereignty, it’s ability and right to chose path of foreign policy, it’s ability to defend itself. It would have become a vassal to Russia, and basically ceased to exist as a self independent nation.

Just after midnight, the 24th Feb, president Zelenskyj made a live broadcast to Russia, and the russian people.
"-Between us, we have a common border of just over 2000 km, where your troops, right now, are located. Almost 200.000 soldiers and thousands of military vehicles.
Your leaders have given them the order to cross that border, into another nation's territory. This may be the start of a great war on the European continent.
I know they've told you, that these flames of fire, will liberate Ukraine.
But the people of Ukraine are already free.
They've told you we are n***s. But how can there be support of n***sm among a people that lost over 8 million lives in the war AGAINST n***sm?
How could I be a n**i? Ask that question to my grandfather who fought in the Soviet army, and died as a colonel.
We know for sure that we don't want a war. Not a cold war, or hot war or a hybrid war.
But, if we are attacked, if someone tries to take our land, our freedom, our lives and our children's lives, we will defend ourselves.
If Russia will try to invade Ukraine, then it will be our faces you look into, not our backs."

May I just remind the world, that the most important and decisive battle ever fought since WW2, was the battle of Kiev, from 24th Feb to the end of March, 2022.
European history would have been fundamentally changed if the the outcome had been different. But Ukraine won that battle.
It prevented Kreml from deposing Zelenskyj and reinstate a russian marionette regime, and most likely an expanded Russia from having it's border to Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and Moldova, and Ukraine basically erased from the map.
It broke the image of Russia as a military superpower.
