Today is World Hand Hygiene Day and its a day to highlight because
handwashing with soap reduces diarrhoeal disease risk by 30% and respiratory infections by 17%. Just simply washing hands prevents an estimated 740,000 deaths every year. And with hot safe water handwashing is even more effective. Yet 611 million people have no handwashing facility at all. Its lack of functioning infrastructure, this is where Solvatten comes in at a household level or at point of use. Solvattens is like a solar-powered micro infrastructure that delivers hot, safe water. No grid. No fuel. No complexity. No supply chain problems. Just clean, hot water - where it's never been before.
So on this day, we're opening a limited number of free sample partnerships to NGOs and humanitarian organisations working closest to the problem.
The infrastructure gap is solvable. Let's build the evidence together.

b) Has existing field presence and distribution capacity
c) Is actively evaluating household WASH solutions

Did you know today is Earthday? Earth... isn't that just such a big word? So big that it often makes people do nothing. Like, surely someone else will deal with it. Not me. We live in a time when everything interacts with everything. It can feel difficult to even know where to start. Why not start with sun and water? The big in the small. Start at the source of life and build from there. Solvatten helps directly, and is something you can give too.

Next week, 22nd of April it's - a day to love. What story what do you want to see that day? I think photos of earth from space now latest taken from the dark size of the moon are truly amazing but also makes Earth become in a way more abstract, maybe we feel less responsible for it? I think we better look at life on Earth from within. We learned to see Earth from space. Now we need to learn to see it from the ground again. These photos are from the Kisumu region. Do they feel like Earth Day to you?

Solvatten’s work is grounded in real communities. Here is from Wagwe, Kenya. Recently our colleague Nina Plöen Stenström visited Wagwe in Kenya where Solvatten stakeholder meetings were held with local partners. She also visited Mama Sara Obama Children Foundation and met representatives connected to the Foundation, including Marsat Obama, where Solvatten was introduced as a practical climate and health solution.
It was nice to see that the event from where Barack Obama came to Stockholm back in 2013 and was introduced to Solvatten was so gladly received by his relatives.
