Four days until the start of the 11th EPPC. If you are registered on the pre-conference fieldtrip to Birka on Saturday, please note that you should go to the pier beside Stadshusbron near the Stockholm city hall to catch the boat. You should arrive at the departure point between 9:30 and 9.50. The boat leaves at 10.00 sharp, so please be there at least 10 minutes before.

From the Collegium Palynologicum Scandinavicum (CPS):
The CPS hereby announces two scholarships of 15 000 SEK (1 EUR = c. 11 SEK) to cover expenses for the 11th European Palaeobotany and Palynology Conference (EPPC), to be held in Stockholm, 19‒22 June 2022.
The scholarships are intended for early career scientists (Postdocs, PhD and Masters students) conducting research in the field of palynology. The CPS encourages successful candidates to submit their findings to Grana for publication.
To be eligible for the scholarships, applicants should send their EPPC abstract (maximum 300 words) to [email protected] by April 12 at the latest.
Successful candidates will be informed before the registration deadline of the EPPC (April 14). Other details about the conference can be found at:

Reminder to register
The deadline for registration for the 11th European Palaeobotany and Palynology Conference is one week away: Friday, April 1st, 2022. Please register and upload your conference abstract(s) at the same time at: https://jirango.com/cms/web/4b67cbd5?lang=eng
Also a reminder to send in your contributions for the 11th EPPC photo competition.
Please send in your best palaeobotanical/palynological photos for the Palaeo-Photo competition. These should be high-resolution images (minimum of 300 DPI at A4 size). Since these files are likely to be quite large, please submit your images via one of the free large file transfer services (e.g., WeTransfer: https://wetransfer.com/ or TransferNow: https://www.transfernow.net/en/send-large-files ), or upload the file to Drop Box. Send the files or access permissions to [email protected]

The submitted photos will be printed on poster paper and displayed in the scientific poster area at the 11th European Palaeobotany and Palynology Conference for viewing by the participants. The photos may also be shown as part of a temporary exhibition at the Swedish Museum of Natural History.

Prizes for the best three images will be handed out at the conference dinner – so remember to register for the dinner also!

The EPPC condemns the hostilities launched by the Russian government against the Ukrainian people, and also deplores the suppression of freedom of speech and the rights to civil protest within Russia and Belarus. The invasion has no rational justification, is incurring tragic human losses, and undermines the foundations international security. Within the sciences, this conflict will raise barriers that will take decades to overcome. We are aware of the extraordinary difficulties now faced by Ukrainian scientists. Registration for the 11th European Palaeobotany and Palynology Conference (Stockholm: 19-22 June, 2022) is now open. You can register by accessing the conference homepage at: https://jirango.com/cms/web/4b67cbd5?lang=eng (where you will also find information about fieldtrips, practical information, etc) then clicking on Registration in the menu bar then scroll down the registration page to hit the button “Click here to register yourself”. Then follow the instructions for registration, abstract upload and payment.
