NAIS Project Activity 5 Successfully Hosted in Eskilstuna, Sweden!
As the coordinator of the Nature Connection for Supporting Integration (NAIS) Project, Somaliska Riksförbundet i Sverige was proud to host Activity 5 in Eskilstuna from 30 May to 4 June 2026.
This international training activity brought together youth workers and participants from Finland, Sweden, Poland, and Czechia to explore and apply nature-based methods that support the integration, well-being, and social inclusion of young immigrants. Through experiential learning, outdoor activities, reflection exercises, and intercultural exchange, participants strengthened their competences and contributed to the further development of the project's innovative approaches.
As the coordinating organization, we are delighted with the active participation, commitment, and positive energy demonstrated throughout the week. The activity provided a valuable space for learning, cooperation, and the sharing of good practices among partners and participants.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Danielle, Patrycja, and Paul for their dedication, professionalism, and invaluable contributions to the successful implementation of this activity. Their expertise, guidance, and commitment greatly enriched the learning experience and helped create a welcoming and inspiring environment for all.
We also wish to express our sincere appreciation to Vesa Asikainen and Abdifatah (Jama) Jama for their continuous support, coordination, and commitment throughout the project and this activity. Their contribution has been instrumental in ensuring the quality and success of the NAIS project.
A special thank you goes to our local member organizations and volunteers in Eskilstuna for their outstanding hospitality, hard work, and valuable contribution to the organization of the activity. Your dedication ensured that participants felt welcomed, supported, and at home throughout their stay.
Finally, we thank all participants and partner organizations for their enthusiasm, cooperation, and commitment to promoting inclusion through nature-based youth work. Together, we continue building stronger, healthier, and more inclusive communities across Europe.
