KTH whants some help to make Ladok better!

Hello, we need your help, from a student perspective, to evaluate KTH Ladok services.
Ladok, the system that contains study documentation, is currently developing a new version that involves some major changes. This means that KTH needs to make adjustments for the Ladok services we provide for students. There are services like "Registration", "Examination" that you currently find in the "Personal menu" under "Courses" and "Programs". In this work it is important to include students so that the changes we make lead to simple and useful services. How can I help: attend in a two-hour workshop where we together test and discuss current and new changed services. We offer coffee and sandwich :) Where: at KTH Campus To participate:
1. choose from the times below in the doodle and
2. reply to this email to Åsa Lindström ([email protected]) with a simple "ok" so we will get your email address and can confirm which date you will be called.

Recently, THS education brought up the question of anonymous exam correction to the highest faculty board of KTH. We are pleased to inform that KTH listened and has started a working group deciding how anonymous examination shall be implemented in practice with hopes for integration around 2018. We are positive to this change and look forward to the future possibilities.- THS Head of educational affairs

Global Development Hub:
KTH’s new strategy to tackle the global challenges, such as clean water and access to energy, prioritise the student and teacher. By means of partnership with selected universities in Africa south of the Sahara, KTH’s students and teachers, together with the students and teachers of partner universities, will tackle local challenges which can lead to global solutions. Together with our partners, we are developing our joint innovation capacity for the benefit of Sweden and our partner countries.

Three weeks left and registration is open! :)

Time to introduce our next speakers:

Svea Ekelin is a student at KTH Master of Science in Engineering and of Education (CL) and worked as THS Head of Educational Affairs 2015. Professor Viggo Kann is an educational developer of the CSC school and director of studies of theoretical computer science. He is deeply involved in the examination improvement process at KTH. Together they have developed a course in Examinership for Courses at KTH.

In depth:
KTH is in the process of improving the general quality of assessments and securing the quality of the examination process. New regulations of how to establish new courses, examination, detailed course syllabuses, and grading criteria will be decided soon. Two new courses for teachers have been developed: "Develop the Learning by Using Grading Criteria" and "Examinership for Courses at KTH". In a few years all courses should have outcomes based criterion referenced assessment and all examiners at KTH will need to have taken the examinership course

Time to introduce our first EduConference Speaker!

Kristina Edström is Associate Professor in Engineering Education Development at KTH Royal Institute of Technology. In her research she takes a critical perspective on the why, what and how of educational development. Since 1997 she leads and participates in educational development activities at KTH, in Sweden and internationally. Kristina was awarded the KTH Prize for Outstanding Achievements in Education in 2004 and elected lifetime honorary member of the THS Student Union in 2009.

CDIO is an approach for engineering education development, with the aim to better align education with professional practice, and with student motivation. The goal is to achieve deeper working understanding of disciplinary knowledge, together with the skills and abilities relevant for engineering practice. So how is the disciplinary knowledge related to becoming an engineer? How can we keep implementing CDIO in KTH education? What can you as a student representative do to promote the ideas and make their implementation successful?

The CDIO Initiative was founded in 2000, by MIT (in Cambridge, MA) and three Swedish universities – KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Chalmers and Linköping University. It is now a community that consists of more than 130 institutions. The acronym comes from a one-liner describing engineering practice: Conceiving, Designing, Implementing, and Operating products, processes and systems.
