Mental health Challenges in East Africa This a networking group whereby we look at the issues of mental health challenges in East Africa, pri This results in poverty and social inequality.

Mental challenges are a great problem in this region and have very close affiliation to poverty, people live low below the poverty line and many lack motivation to change their situation. They are usually regarded as people beyond help and left to wallow in sad conditions. Most live in isolation, ridiculed and with no public support or understanding. Strength in numbers and community building is a

struggle and virtually none existent. Through our support in helping create an infrastructure we provide those interested in starting self-help groups tools and hope. This helps them create a bridge that would bring communities together removing stigma surrounding mental health.
