Stockholm’s Art Metro – The Longest Art Gallery in the World🇸🇪 🎨🚇
Did you know Stockholm has what some consider to be the world’s longest art gallery?
The Stockholm Metro, the city’s metro system, is so much more than just a public transport system. This system covers dozens of stations and is home to incredible murals, sculptures, mosaics, paintings and creative installations that turn everyday travel into an artistic experience.
From colorful cave-like platforms to modern designs and historical artwork, nearly every station has its own unique identity and story. 🚉✨ Tourists and locals alike often stop just to admire the creativity hidden beneath the streets of Sweden’s capital.
More than 150 artists are showcased throughout the metro, and their work touches on themes ranging from nature and history to politics, culture and social change. It’s a great example of how public spaces can be places of inspiration, not just transit points.
🌍 Normally subways are a rushed, crowded affair. Not so in Stockholm, where they made their underground a living museum that millions of people experience every year.
