🎗It’s fundamental to learn how to manage our own emotions. If we don’t balance them in the proper way, our mind and body will try to manage on its own and sometimes that’s where the urge to inflict self-harm comes from.
Here are examples of some trigger moments of when is essencial to manage our emotions:
🔸during under-pressured or stressfull moments (can be at home or in school/work) - is important to try to relax and to think intelligently about what is in your power to change that situation;
🔸 when we feel alone and isolated - it’s essencial to identify what triggers this emotions, for example, scrolling on social media can bring a lot of self-comparison and to feel down about what you don’t have, so try to put a daily limit to the amount of time spent in social media;
🔸when your environment involves people that are very negative - making some changes to the places you hang around or even your group of friends can contribute to a healthier emotional support group;
🔸 suppressing emotions (any emotion that is buckled in, tends to grow and to become harder to deal with such as sadness, anger, disappointment) - what to do instead? take a deep breath, give some time to the situation to pass by and talk to someone about it;
🔸include in your routine relaxing activities such as joining a book club, art & crafts groups, outdoor hobbies - this will lessen stress and help to see life in more positive perspectives!
