We're happy to announce CA for our own Stockholm Mini 2026!

This year, we have a similar group with one important addition: SDS senior member Sahel Faez! He is known for breaking in every tournament he has ever judged, which is around 50+ international tournaments. Like it wasn't enough, he has also broken in and won multiple tournaments as a debater in the Australasian debating circuit, and competed in the WUDC.

Our next CA is Andrew Mabon, who requires no introduction. EUDC 2026 breaking judge, CA of Riga IV 2025, outrounds judge of Copenhagen Open and more. He's also a Grand Finalist of Baltic IV and our own Chairman.

Next in the line - Daryna Ivanitska! The best judge of the previous Stockholm Mini, a Grant finalist of Baltic IV, an EUDC judge, and a breaking speaker at Riga IV 2024.

And now, the last but not least - Anton Granath. He's known for his excellent knowledge of IR and for being able to read an entire Wikipedia. Apart from that, he has debated for 7.5 years, placed highly as a speaker during Baltic IV and Riga IV, and broken at many tournaments, most recently at Riga IV 2024.

Saddle up for Stockholm Mini 2025!

A one-day public speaking & debate tournament in a British Parliamentary format open to everyone, from first-timers to seasoned speakers. Learn and connect with students from across Sweden in a friendly competition.

Are you curious about how rhetoric and debate can sharpen your professional skills?

On September 20th, Stockholm Debate Society and Sveriges Retoriker are hosting a half-day workshop at Stockholm University. The program combines voice training, improvisation, argumentation exercises, and a practice debate in mixed teams. It is designed not only for debaters and students of rhetoric, but also for those who see clear connections to their future careers—whether in communication consulting, media, politics, or education.

The workshop is highly interactive, with 70% of the time spent on practice rather than theory. It is also a chance to expand your network among students, young professionals, and others interested in how the art of speaking and debating can be applied beyond the classroom. 🌿 Picnic with Stockholm Debate Society for new students

Starting university can feel overwhelming — but it doesn’t have to.
Come spend a sunny afternoon with us for a relaxed picnic where you can meet new friends, swap stories, and perhaps discover a love for debate.

We’ll kick things off with a light-hearted show debate so you can see what it’s all about. There’ll also be role-play speaking games if you want to try something fun and interactive, and more laid-back games if you’d rather keep it low-pressure.

Snacks are provided (and you’re very welcome to bring more to share).
All you need is yourself, maybe a blanket, and a bit of curiosity.

Whether you’re a first-year, an international student, or a returning member, this is your chance to connect, laugh, and start your semester with a community that values good conversation.

📍 Stockholm Bootcamp, 2025
Something special happened.

We brought together organisers, students, and teachers from across the Nordics to build something bigger than debating events - a stronger, more connected community of debate societies.

The Bootcamp wasn’t just about workshops. It was about sharing struggles and solutions, building friendships, and asking big questions:
- What could Nordic debating look like if we worked together?
- How can we bring debating into more high schools?
- And what kind of world do we want to shape through this?

This is just the beginning. The next step is Debate Academy on October 3-4, 2025. We’re working on supporting teachers and schools to kickstart high school debate across Sweden — and beyond. We’re also building long-term collaboration between debate societies in the region.

Thanks to everyone who showed up, shared ideas and made this real. Stay tuned — there’s more coming. 💬

"Debating is not for me, I'm a creative free soul." - So are we!

Debating is about philosophy, psychology, art and human relationships as much as about politics and international relationships. We will prove it to you on the 19th of May, 18:00 in Stockholm University, Södra Huset, Hörsal 6.

Join us for themed debates to explore when logical reasoning and appreciation for beauty intersects.

In the meantime, you're always welcome to explore other topics with us every Monday and Wednesday, 18:00 same location.
