Imprint of Hope is a unique organization , founded and run by Yezidi survivors living in the Bajed Kandala IDP camp. Their work shows how much can be achieved by small locally-anchored organizations working with far more limited resources than government agencies or international NGOS.

The Nemam Ghafouri Fund is proud to support IOH's collaboration with One Bridge To - and their program Hêza Jinan (“the strength of women”) which aims "to ensure that Yezidi women—survivors of genocide, forced displacement, sexual slavery, bereavement, and social isolation—can access dedicated medical care, safe spaces, and meaningful opportunities for empowerment".

Their objectives for 2026 are:
1) to improve the functioning of their primary care clinic;
2) to guarantee provision of gynecological services including prenatal and postnatal
consultations, reproductive-health prevention, and monthly educational sessions;
3) to develop psychosocial and empowerment programs for women in IOH's community center;
4) to train young women and girls on menstrual health, bodily autonomy, and their rights
to physical and psychological well-being.

Today, a vaccination campaign is taking place at our center, Bajad Kandala 2 Health Center,Imprint of Hope Organization.

Nemam Ghafouri didn't just put her own talents to work: she was a tireless recruiter of volunteers, who knew how to motivate others to give their time and their professional skills.

Next spring Stefan Molarin will travel to Sierra Leone to volunteer as an intensive care nurse aboard a Mercy Ships floating hospital in Sierra Leone.

"This opportunity carries deep personal meaning for me", Stefan wrote to us. "After many years of working in intensive care, I feel strongly motivated to offer my time, energy, and professional abilities to support people who face significant barriers to receiving healthcare."

The Nemam Ghafouri Memorial Fund is proud to be able to provide a grant to support Stefan's mission.

Nu har vi haft årets sista styrelsemöte i Nemam Ghafouris minnesfond.
Vid mötet beslutade styrelsen att bevilja stöd till två ansökningar.

Båda projekten ligger i linje med minnesfondens ändamål och bidrar till att människor ska kunna hjälpa andra i utsatta situationer. Det är insatser som ofta sker utan uppmärksamhet, men som gör verklig skillnad.

Vi vill också rikta ett varmt tack till alla som har donerat och bidragit till fonden. Utan ert stöd hade detta arbete inte varit möjligt❤️👊

Imprint of Hope is a non-profit organisation providing vital healthcare, education and social services for yazidi genocide survivors at Bajed Kandala camp in Iraqi Kurdistan.
Their board and team are camp residents who knew and worked with Dr Nemam Ghafouri . When the organisation Nemam founded, JHK, was forced to close after har passing , they were determined to make sure the humanitarian mission was carried on.
Last year we provided a grant of 160 000 SEK ( approx $16,000 usd) to Imprint of Hope to support provision of vital services to the displaced Yazidi population still living in exile without access to basic services more than 10 years since ISIS drove them from their homes.

Today, we mark another year without Dr. Nemam Ghafouri—a loss that still echoes in the lives of those she fought for. But grief alone does not define this day. It is a call to action, a reminder of the fire she carried and the battles she refused to turn away from.

Nemam was not just a doctor. She was a force. A relentless fighter for justice, for dignity, for the forgotten and abandoned. When the world looked away from the suffering of war and genocide victims, she ran toward them. She did not slow down. She did not compromise. She stood in the ruins, in the refugee camps, in the frontlines of despair, offering not just medical care, but defiance against indifference.

At Nemam Ghafouri Memorial Fund, we are committed to ensuring her work does not end with her passing. Together with you we continue her fight—not as a tribute, but as a responsibility. Because the people she stood for still need us. Because the injustice she confronted still exists. Because if we truly honor her, we do not just remember her—we act.
