The flower’s name in different languages means “REMEMBER.” The forget-me-not was created in 2015 on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. It symbolises remembrance, identity, and unity—especially in connection with the 1915 Armenian Genocide, our history, and our future.

Black:
The black color symbolises the horrors of the Genocide and the memory of the tragedy.

Yellow:
The yellow color represents hope, life, and the future. It also reflects the light of the sun and has a circular shape, symbolising the 12 pillars of the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial.

Light Purple:
Light purple represents the collective participation of all people in the act of remembrance. The smaller petals symbolise the unity of the Armenian communities around the world.

Dark Purple:
Dark purple is the dominant color and represents Armenian identity. It is also connected to the Armenian Church, as this color is often seen in the garments of the clergy. The five larger petals symbolise the five continents where the Armenian Diaspora has spread.
