IAC is happy to announce the new More Sound artist: Danish composer and visual artist Niels Lyhne Løkkegaard who will start his residency at IAC in spring 2027!
During his residency, Niels Lyhne Løkkegaard will explore how concerts and recording situations can be reimagined beyond traditional ideas of acoustic control and neutrality. Through investigations of listening, distance, proximity, and the relationship between foreground and background, he will examine how sound environments shape our perception and experience.
Based in Copenhagen, Niels Lyhne Løkkegaard (b. 1979) works across sound, visual art, and architecture. His practice explores saturated systems, material and perceptual collisions, and the ways artistic interventions can create cracks and transformations within established structures. He studied at the Rhythmic Music Conservatory (RMC) and the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts.
