This morning, we had another great breakfast meeting! We were a big bunch of members who had joined to say thankyou and goodbye to Suetake and Tristan, our two global grant students.
They summarized their 2 years in Lund, as Master students at the university.
During these two years they have been welcomed guests at our meetings and other activities, such as barbeque in Skrylle, Thanksgiving and Dungeons & Dragons. Always bringing their young energy and happy smiles!
They have been working hard but also have had time to experience Sweden and other places such as Brussels and Italy.
For a farmer’s boy, as Tristan is, it’s been great spending time in big cities, also the bigger ones than Lund, and coming from a “always hardworking” country, as Suetake, the fika breaks were first unfamiliar but have come to be of great importance!
For our club, they have meant a lot, and it is with sorrow we send them off into the world, but hope that they will never forget us and will come back soon!

As a token of our love for them, and as a reminder of their time in Lund, we presented them with "Läst in Lund", a wooden last, made by our member Henry, Lund's best shoemaker!

This week is an extraordinary week. The Lundakarneval takes place, a Quadrennial event and this influences the whole town as more than 10 000 students from Lund University takes part in arranging it for all of us.

Tuesday 19th May we will talk about the Karneval, with it's history dating from 1849 and onwards.

Do join us and share also your own, or inherited, memories of past karnevaler.

These posters were found in a basement of a former student (now 89 years old) in Lund.

Tuesday 24th February we will be hosting Mr Johan Olausson who works at RISE and leads projects to help companies understand, measure, and manage their impacts and dependencies on biodiversity. His work focuses on developing practical methods, data, and tools for biodiversity measurement, target-setting, and reporting, together with RISE’s researchers and other research partners.

In this presentation, he will discuss why biodiversity is difficult to measure, how companies can navigate emerging frameworks such as SBTN and TNFD, and how they can move from ambition to action through practical examples and case studies.

Welcome all interested!!!
