We at NFGL Luleå are happy to invite you to our upcoming study visit to Luleå Science Park. LSP is one of the must visit places in Luleå for those interested in innovation, entrepreneurship and creativity. The park helps people establish and run know-how businesses. Today there are around 1,000 employees within 100 companies that have the world as a market here at Luleå Science Park. Many of them are extremely developed technologically and some of them even world leaders in their respective fields. During this study visit we will learn more about the park, what they do and how they help people and startups go from first steps to fully fledged companies.

We visited a small museum and got to see part of the tool, equipment and machinery used in the mine throughout its history.

We listened to a detailed explanation of how the company mines the iron-ore, the different steps, and the side effects resulting from those processes and how they try to control those side effects. It was particularly interesting to hear about the in-house research efforts and how it helps the company save a lot of energy costs ..
