NFGP Luleå Network had a remarkable day at Arctic Business on May 10th, 2023. The event kicked off with an engaging introduction by Stefan Lundblom, Senior Business Advisor, who shared valuable insights about Arctic Business, highlighted success stories, and discussed the opportunities to join the incubator for those with innovative ideas.
One of the highlights of the day was a captivating success story from "Curest," a pioneering company that has developed a cutting-edge VR-based application for physiotherapy. The founder shared their inspiring journey, highlighting the challenges they encountered and how they successfully overcame them with the support of the Arctic Business Incubator.
The program concluded with a networking lunch, which provided a fantastic opportunity for scholars and students from Luleå University of Technology to engage in enlightening discussions about the ongoing green revolution in the northern region. The atmosphere was vibrant, filled with insightful conversations, and sprinkled with laughter, creating a truly memorable experience.

NFGP Luleå network organized a study visit to Skellfteå on the 26th of February. The journey started with a visit to Sara Kulturhus and The wood hotel by Elite, a locally built wooden house and one of the tallest wooden hotel in the world. It was amazing to see how wood has been used to build an entire building consisting of an art gallery, conference rooms, library and different theatre stages giving different experiences to audiences, and unique sound system embedded in it also gives a world-class experience to the audiences. It was privileged to see the Solar ågg, a human heart-shaped wood stove that has a sauna inside, which produces electricity from its own solar cell unit. The top of the building gives a spectacular view of the entire city.
Skellfteå museum was our next destination, the entire museum is divided into separate divisions giving information about the livelihood of people from the ice age to nowadays. Had a well-spent Sunday learning about wood, history, and solar power. Thank you Swedish Institute Scholarships for Global Professionals for the golden opportunity given to us to widen our knowledge related to sustainability practices in Sweden.

NFGP Luleå Network members had a long and memorable day on 16th December 2022 by visiting the modern and largest iron-ore mine in the world. It was interesting to see how the entire organization was driven by sustainability practices. The study visit started with a brief introduction to the LKAB organization, what they do, and how they use modern technologies like digital twin, AI, and robotics. Then the scholars were taken down to Visitor Centre on level 540 underground where the entire iron-ore mine process from sorting to palletizing was explained in depth. A graphical step-by-step presentation of how the old Kiruna city center is moving to its new settlement location due to the discovery of ore deposits was also demonstrated.

The next destination was the Torneland Ice Hotel where scholars got the opportunity to see beautiful hand-made sculptures made of Ice. Different ice beds, decors, and suites are truly magical and sceneries to behold for a lifetime. Thank you, Swedish Institute Scholarships for Global Professionals for giving us a lifetime experience. 😀😃

A few snaps from the event “Inside Sweden”, that took place on the 8th of December 2022. It was great to see our beloved lecturer, Dr. Ossi Pesäma, join us as the guest speaker for the event. His brief about Sweden’s history, tourist attractions, do’s and don’ts in Sweden, tax system, and food habits enlightened us. Our friends from 5 different countries also shared their views, ideas and explained their own country’s history and food culture. We all had an interactive, insightful discussion and a productive evening!
