Hjärtligt välkomna till Gampopa’s Instructions on the Completion Stage (Dzogrim)
fredag den 3 oktober, kl. 18-21 på Ratnashri Meditation Center (Friggavägen 11, Lidingö, telefon: 08-765 5878)
After covering Gampopa’s special instructions on how to practice the Creation Stage of deity-yoga, on this Friday evening, October 3, kl.18-21, Dr. Hun Lye will share with us Gampopa’s teachings on the Completion Stage (Dzogrim) focusing on the realization of Mahamudra, the ultimate bodhicitta, the nature of one’s own mind. One experiences the luminous, empty, unceasing, primordial wisdom as Dharmakaya and its coemergent thoughts and appearances as the radiance of Dharmakaya. The stages of progress will be discussed.
Within the Completion Stage, there is Completion Stage with characteristics and Completion Stage without characteristics. Completion Stage with characteristics refers to using various skillful means (such as visualizations) and subtle energy practices (tsa lung thigle or channels, chakras, winds, and vital essences) to gain direct experience and control over the mind and subtle body to bring about a direct realization of the mind's ultimate nature, while the Completion Stage without characteristics refers to the ultimate, unmediated realization of the mind's true nature, free from all conceptual constructs and reliance on methods. The Completion Stage with characteristics is about using the body's subtle energy system to realize the wisdom that was conceptualized in the Creation Stage. The stability of mind and pure vision developed in the Creation Stage are essential to safely and effectively engage in the powerful and subtle practices of the Completion Stage.
Completion Stage with characteristics often includes inner yogas like tummo (inner heat), illusory body, clear light, dream yoga, bardo yoga, and phowa. Dr. Hun Lye will explain these inner yogas with emphasis on the cultivation of tummo. The goal of these inner yogas is to gather the winds (lung) from the side channels and dissolve them into the central channel. When the winds dissolve into the central channel, the conceptual mind ceases, revealing the most fundamental layer of consciousness: the clear light. This is a direct, non-conceptual experience of emptiness and luminosity. However, the most direct, powerful, and safest way to attain the same result, that is, to get the the side channels winds into the central channel naturally is through pure and strong devotion, especially the devotion to become a Buddha for the benefit of all sentient beings.
As announced earlier, Dr. Hun Lye has agreed to come to Sweden and lead a retreat for us in August 2026! So, this will be another opportunity to get acquainted with Dr. Hun Lye as a teacher as well as for him to know us as a Sangha better. The more he knows about us, the better retreat we will have in August!
