On our last visit at Lycée Pierre-Paul Riquet we presented our parts of the project to each other. We also finished our logos and got to take them home with us😊

Thank you to all the students and their families who let us stay with them during the week, and a thank you to our teachers Lisa and Ingemar! It has been a great visit to Toulouse with fun trips and new friends to remember🫶

Today we visited Cité de l’espace🛰️
One fun activity there was when we got to experience 2G acceleration pressures, similar to ESA astronaut training🚀

In the evening we met with our correspondents and their families to eat some snacks and get to know each other more😊

Bonjour!
Today we are visiting Lycée Pierre-Paul Riquet. We are working together with the other class on the Explora II Project to discuss it as well as solve problems that have come up within it. We are working together to make the project flow smoothly. The French students have given us a tour of their school as well as breakfast (which we are very greatfull for🙏). Together we are creating a logo for the project that will later be brought to life by a 3D printer, as well as creating posters and PowerPoints for the project.

Because of bad weather in the mountains we could not visit Pic du Midi.
Instead we stayed a few hours in Bagnères-de-Bigorre to walk around and eat lunch. Then we visited La Halle de la Machine.🤖

Project Management
Modestas and Alicia
These guys are responsible for the overall planning and coordination of the project. This includes maintaining the master schedule and documentation, ensuring that the project complies with Erasmus+requirements, and coordinating the work between the different project groups. Project Management also monitors progress and has decision authority in case of conflicts between groups or when there are risks to the project timeline.

Instrumentation
Maria and Ludvig
This group defines the scientific objectives and priorities, selects and specifies all scientific instruments, ensures that instruments meet both scientific and environmental requirements, coordinates with System Engineering regarding mass, power, and volume constraints, and communicates instrument requirements to the Assembly and Programming groups. This group leads all scientific decision-making.

System Engineering
Hugo, Hanna and Daler
They are responsible for the overall system architecture of the payload, issuing a System Test Plan for final testing, ensuring compatibility between instruments, power, data, and structural components, defining interfaces between subsystems, and managing system constraints such as mass, size, power consumption, and data rates. System Engineering also acts as the technical coordinator between all project groups.

Programming
Kevin and Noah M
They develop software for data acquisition and logging, prepare test programs before hardware delivery, supports testing and system integration, ensure the integrity and retrievability of collected data. Programming work begins before hardware delivery in order to minimize testing time

Assembly
Elias, Vera and Simon
This group designs and builds the payload structure, ensures that the payload remains as lightweight as possible while maintaining sufficient robustness, integrates all instruments according to the defined requirements, and prepares the payload for final integration and launch. Assembly must strictly follow the constraints provided by System Engineering and Instrumentation.

Flight
Axel and Edvin
These guys are responsible for flight configuration and launch preparation, designing and manufacturing the parachute system for the SC mission, ensuring safe flight, descent, and recovery, and supporting post-assembly testing related to flight readiness. The parachute system must be completed before or in parallel with the assembly process.

Quality Assurance (QA)
Noah S and Sixten
This group supports testing throughout all phases of the project, verifies that procedures are properly followed and documented, participates in integration and final testing, as well as ensuring traceability of tests and changes. QA is involved in the early stages of the project and not only at the end.

International Co-operation
Egil and Sofia
They are responsible for coordinating collaboration between the teams in France and Sweden. This includes planning the international trip, organizing the practical arrangements related to the visit, and establishing the schedule for activities that involve both partners. The group ensures that communication between the international team runs smoothly and that the collaboration is well coordinated throughout the project.

Communication
Agnes, Malin, Eliott and Matilda
They are responsible for facilitating communication between the teams in France and Sweden, ensuring that information, updates, and coordination between the international partners flow clearly and effectively. The group also manages the project’s social media presence by sharing updates about progress, milestones, and activities related to the mission.

This is us, the students at Rymdgymnasiet working with the Explora II project🚀

We’ve put the companies sponsoring us along the side. They finance and help guide our project, making it possible for us! A post presenting our sponsors will be posted!

Rymdgymnasiet-Kiruna/Sweden are collaborating with Lycée Pierre-Paul Riquet-Toulouse/France for a space-project. The project, Explora II, is the second project with Lycée Pierre-Paul Riquet. Both schools are going to launch stratospheric balloons from different geographical regions in May. The results will later be compared with each other after the summer.

The project with Lycée Pierre-Paul Riquet has a side project that will study the differences between the usage of phones and media in schools. Both schools will communicate with each other during the project, and during this spring, Rymdgymnasiet will visit Toulouse and meet the other school.

It is Rymdgymnasiet’s third year students that are working on this project. They are divided into groups with different tasks that are required for the project to succeed. We will update on Instagram, Facebook and TikTok on what we are doing with pictures of our work and us students. ✨
