The most useful part of Almedalen this year: we didn't have to convince anyone that drones matter.
This year people came to our booth already curious — asking how they're built, how they're used, what Sweden could learn from Ukraine. The interest is real, and so is the understanding that this is a field to develop together. Even the Ambassador of Ukraine to Sweden Svitlana Zalishchuk turned up in a vyshyvanka with drones embroidered on it. The point made itself. 😼
Here's why we keep showing up: where you don't send a drone, you send a person instead. Drones save lives. When your enemy is many times larger, being fast and asymmetric isn't a luxury — it's the only way to hold the line.
This year our focus was more about the longer game. We want to scale the workshops, grow the donor network, and build a side of our mission beyond buying equipment: helping Swedish society understand drones. The fundraising keeps the units supplied today. The knowledge is what lasts.
That's also why the part that stuck wasn't the headline panels. It was the horizontal connections — with the people who actually build and operate things, like Hemvärnet and FRO. 🤝
