🗳 Ever wondered how voting actually works in Sweden?

Pre-voting has already started, so this is a good week to find out more.

We've met a lot of internationals who want to understand the Swedish electoral process better, so, together with This Is Helsingborg and Mindpark, we're putting on a session to help with exactly that.

✨️ Join us on this Friday at Mindpark for a relaxed after work talk in English, where we'll learn where and how to vote in Helsingborg, what pre-voting means and who can use it, and much more.

Come by, grab a drink, meet other internationals, and leave understanding how elections here work.

🗓 Friday 4 September
⏰️ 17:30 to 19:00 (doors open at 17:00)

☕ Join us for Coffee at Café Henry!

Our next Helsingborg International Connections coffee morning takes us to Café Henry at Dunkers kulturhus on Friday 16 October.

🌍 As always, our HIC coffee mornings offer an informal opportunity for internationals in the Helsingborg area to meet, make new connections and expand their local networks over a cup of coffee.

This time, we’ll also hear from Kristoffer Sköld, one of the people behind Blue Tuna Group, about the group and its local restaurants. Registration is not required.

📅 Friday 16 October
⏰ 09:30-11:00
📍 Café Henry, Dunkers kulturhus, Kungsgatan 11, Helsingborg

We were very honoured to be invited by the Oruma Association to today's Onam celebrations at Tryckeriet. 😃🙏

Onam is a harvest festival that comes from the Keralam region of southern India and also honours the return of the mythological King Mahabali, said to have been a wise and generous ruler. 🇮🇳

We enjoyed some wonderful performances, then sat down to a fantastic communal meal of traditional rices, curries, and accompanying dishes. The photo here was just the start of the food! 🍛

We were also delighted to meet the other guests, Swati Sharma from the Indian Embassy in Stockholm, Matou Shamjetshabam from Inva-Sam, and Carl and Ekaterina from Raja Svanberg, influencers and Indophiles! 💃🏽

Thank you to Sharath Krishna for the invitation and to everyone else who made us so welcome! It was a wonderful celebration and we look forward to returning next year! 😊

Welcoming new international students to Helsingborg! 🇸🇪🌍

Today, we had the pleasure of meeting the new international master’s students from Lund University Campus Helsingborg at Rådhuset, Helsingborg's iconic city hall.

The welcome event was organised by Helsingborgs stad and brought together several local organisations to give the students a taste of what Helsingborg has to offer.

The students also had the opportunity to hear from:

🏛️ Mayor Mats Sander
🏢 Helsingborgs stad – Carola Netterlid and Hanna Myrbäck
🌱 Sustainalink – Emma Sjölander
💻 Mindpark & HID – Karsten Deppert
🎓 Stampus – Gustav Nilsson

We were delighted to be part of the programme and to present Helsingborg International Connections.

We look forward to seeing many of the students at HIC events and activities over the coming year, helping them discover the city, build connections, and make Helsingborg feel like home. 💙

Welcome to Helsingborg! 👋

🗳 Election Season: How Voting Works in Sweden

Curious about how elections actually work here? You're not alone. We've met many internationals who want to understand the electoral process even better.

So we're doing something about it. Join us for a relaxed after-work session where we walk through the Swedish electoral system — how it works, who votes for what, and how the pieces fit together.

Pre-voting has now started — but what does that actually mean? Who can use it, how does it work, and where can you vote here in Helsingborg? We'll cover all of it, plus the essentials of how the system fits together.

Everything in English. All the how, none of the politics. Organised as a collaboration between Helsingborg International Connections, This is Hbg, and Mindpark Helsingborg.

🗓 Friday 4 September
