Over the last two years, Helsingborg International Connections and Helsingborg International Rotary Club have built a meaningful collaboration around a shared ambition: creating stronger connections between the international community and the Helsingborg region. 🌍
As part of this collaboration, HIC played a small role in helping facilitate a pilot mentorship programme for international master’s students at Lund University Campus Helsingborg, launched by the club last September. Through regular meetings, conversations, and shared activities, mentors and mentees have had the opportunity to learn from one another both personally and professionally. 🤝
At today’s Helsingborg International Rotary Club meeting, we had the pleasure of hearing from the three participating students about their experiences.
Their reflections were thoughtful, inspiring, and full of gratitude. It was clear how valuable the mentorships had been in helping them build confidence, networks, local insight, and professional understanding. 😊
A huge thank you to the students for their engagement, openness, and excellent presentations, and equally to the mentors for generously sharing their time, experience, and encouragement.
Initiatives like this matter. Mentorships help international students feel connected to the region, strengthen their professional opportunities, and support talent retention in Helsingborg and Skåne. They also demonstrate the value of collaboration between organisations, networks, and local communities in creating long-term regional growth. 🚀
The positive response today — including several new volunteers stepping forward as mentors — shows the strength and potential of this initiative. We look forward to the next round of mentorships after the summer break.
Well done to Erica Farrer, Steve Sunny Emmanuel, and Dibyo Iriansyah Sugama for today's presentations, and to Robbyna, Catharina, and Margaret for their engagement over the last year! 😃
