Did you know that we have a great team of ambassadors who will come and give a talk about Aquabox to groups and organisations? Quite often after a talk we are asked if they can visit the depot for a tour. One such group recently was The Farm Women’s group from Ockbrook in Derbyshire. Being able to see how we make the filters, and hear all about the amazing work our volunteers do, to save lives around the world is very inspiring.

To book a talk or a depot visit, message us or see our website aquabox.org.

On 12th September, a packed St Mary’s Church in Wirksworth, enjoyed a fantastic performance by the Fishpond choir. The programme’s fitting theme in support of Aquabox , was the Circle of Life and featured songs from a wide range of composers from Mancini to Elton John. Songs included Moon River, Danny Boy, Ipharadisi (traditional South African song) with the Lion’s Kings ‘Circle of Life’ as the finale.

Over £1,400 was collected which will go to help Aquabox provide even more aid to countries such as Ukraine, Nepal, Yemen and Malawi.

From earthquakes and hurricanes, to working with refugees fleeing a war zone, ’s life saving water filters are in use in over 50 countries, converting billions of litres of contaminated water so that it is clean and safe to drink.
Please help support our life saving work.

As the old idiom goes ‘seeing is believing’ and that was certainly the case when Wirksworth new Team Rector Neil Griffiths, visited our depot recently. Alongside Neil was Assistant Curate Nicholas Radford Powell, Team Administrator Caroline Prince and Associate Priest Rod Prince.

The ministry team were shown around by Roger Cassidy and Colin with a demonstration of the family water filter drawing the comment from Rev Nicolas “After a few pumps Colin had a cup of clear water from which he took a drink. I was so surprised at how simple the filter was to use and how clear the water came out. A bigger surprise came when Colin asked us to guess how much this life-saving kit costs.… £35! Yes, just £35!”

Having seen the equipment in action it was time to take a tour of the production line. Roger led us into a room that was buzzing with not only the sound of equipment being used but of a happy team of volunteers. Each family filter sent out by Aquabox is put together by hand in that room. It was amazing to see the way the volunteers skilfully fitted together the various parts to make a complete unit.

Nicholas added, “All of this great, life-saving work takes place on our doorstep but many are unaware of it. I wonder how we and others might choose to support the work to ensure that those in need continue to receive the help they desperately need?”

🌟 A Visit from John Whitby - Newly Elected MP for Derbyshire Dales 🌟

After a whirlwind couple of months, John Whitby for Derbyshire Dales, our newly elected MP for Derbyshire Dales, took time out of his busy schedule to visit Aquabox this week. 🎉

We had the pleasure of showing John around, with Roger Cassidy, our Chair of Trustees, along with fellow trustee Cheryle Berry and Colin Petty. During his visit, John was given a demonstration of our family water filter in our new production room. He saw firsthand the intricate process of packing over 40 essential items into our Aqua-Aid box and learned how we deliver these lifesaving supplies worldwide. 🌍

John was particularly impressed by our efforts in Ukraine, Yemen, and Syria, where we’ve shipped over 17 consignments to help those in conflict-torn regions. He was amazed to hear about our hard work over the last 12 months, doubling production of our family water filters.

“I was prepared to be impressed with Aquabox, but the visit has exceeded my expectations,” John said. ”The commitment of over 80 volunteers to achieve all this in the Derbyshire Dales is amazing, and to think they have been doing this for over 32 years.” He added, “As Colin demonstrated the water filter in action, turning dirty water into clean drinking water instantly was a real wow moment. Aquabox deserves all the support they can get.”

We are grateful for John’s support and look forward to continued collaboration! 🙌
