In July 2027, the larps that were the foundational stones of Atropos back in the day and took us onto the international stage, are making a return.

We are organizing Do Androids Dream, When Androids Pray and Where Androids Die as a trilogy, connected together and played in the same (but changing) set. It will be four days of larping with a day in between the first two and the last.

For many of those who know us today, they don't know what the trilogy is about, so let us tell you.

It is inspired by Blade Runner and the future as imagined in the 80s, it is about humanity and what makes life worth fighting for. It is about hope in the darkness, about clinging to meaning even when you are nothing but a machine in the eyes of the world.

Androids in this world are not actually machines. They are human beings, their DNA altered to give them a short lifespan but be fully developed and skilled workers from the moment they are born. They are owned and controlled by humans who have built an 'utopia' on the backs of their labour. Now, Androids are growing the food, working the jobs and handling all services.

It is a story about how a group of Androids break free from their genetic programming, about how they find something to believe in. How the word spreads about their innate worth and value - and how the Company-run capitalist dystopia cannot tolerate a rebellion amidst it's world-spanning labour monopoly.

It was run in 2017-2018 as three larps, each one built in two different giant blackboxes where we created a city. A living, breathing city with streets, buildings, underground clubs and a static subway, taking people from one place to another through a function of play.

For all those who believe in what we do today - we invite you to come see what we have learnt since, and to revisit our original projects.

Now, we are calling for a team to make this real. Back then, we relied on volunteers in a way we don't do much anymore, but for this to become a reality we need it. It's going to be a crazy project, we will be building the set for weeks, and we hope to make the whole process of creating it together a worthwhile one.

We want YOU to come join us for some intense weeks in June and July, starting around the 20th of June, to work alongside us and earn spots and tickets to the larps along with an experience of creating this together.

The form to send in your interest is available in the comments.

Call for content!

2017 Atropos Studios was born. 10 years, 18 larps and a lot of runs later we now are gearing up to celebrate where we came from, revisit old projects and also look ahead.
As a part of our Atro-versy we want to self-publish a book about our larps, our design philosophy and our organisation.
But we all know a larp is nothing without its participants so therefore we now invite you to be a part of our anniversary book!

If you want to we would love to hear how our larps have influenced or inspired you. Changed you or disappointed you.

Call for content is open until the 1st of October 2026

Things of interest:
- Reviews of larp experiences
- Art or poetry created during our larps or after it, inspired by your larp experience
- Testimonies to lasting impact from any of our larps
...or anything else you think would fit into a coffee table book about Atropos' different projects through the years.

Send your submissions to us through the form linked in the comments.

If you have any questions you can reach us at [email protected]

The Forbidden History 2026 is over.

It was a crazy thought - to try to limit the time spent producing it by doing two runs back to back, to only have to haul everything to Poland once for two runs, to allow more people to play it, to try to make a smoother process and to standardize a lot of the casting and much much more.

Countless edits and changes happened behind the scenes before these runs, and many more will probably happen in the future. Small things that aren't always seen, but they made this iteration of Forbidden History a lot more smooth behind the scenes. We are incredibly excited to once again have worked with such a great team of organizers and helpers.

Here is a photo, an album will come later, by Rekografia that showcases a perfect moment in Cavendish Hall.

Here are the full credits for the 2026 run, and we are so thankful to all the participants that made this possible and that continue to trust us with their time, efforts and support.

Soon, the sign-ups to Indenture are closing, our larp about personal relationships put to the test through a tournament that risks to split lovers apart, try the loyalty of friends or be used by people to further themselves at the expense of their partner.

However, due to the sign-ups closing on a Saturday evening, we are extending them until SUNDAY at 23.59, rather than tomorrow. That way, everyone has more time to sign-up and Sunday evening is a lot nicer than Saturday evening for such a thing!

Indenture returns!

It is a larp about a high stakes game of poker, but it is really a story about human relations, the hope for the big breakthrough, desperate motivations and complex power dynamics.

The runs last year were a great success and we've improved further on the design from participant feedback, and now with plenty of time to sign up we hope to have three amazing runs in September-October of 2026.

Website is up, and sign ups are open! They will be open until the 31st of January.

Introducing: The Austen Experience Redemption Run

Setting: It has been a year since The Austen Experience theme park was shut down due to a virus. Since a few weeks it is up and running again, and now it is time for the people who missed out on their full experience to return to experience true love with one of the park’s heroes.

Off-game: The Austen Experience Redemption Run was created to give the players who had their 2025 experience cut short, and to make one more run of the larp. In this version, all Heroines are customers who are invited back because they didn’t get their full romance story.

There are currently a mix of players from run 1 and 2 who have spots, but every group has a handful of openings, so join us and experience a larp about dehumanisation, capitalism, and Jane Austen, set in the Androids universe. All necessary fiction will be provided by us, so you will not be any worse off for not having played the previous runs.

Practical:
Where: Rockelstad castle, Flen, Sweden
When: 5–8 November 2026
How much: Standard fee is €500, subsidised and sponsor options available

Note: We are trying to make this larp as easy to run as possible. Therefore we have gathered all the relevant information in one tab on the webpage, rather than rewrite the entire thing for this run. If you have not played the larp before we strongly recommend that you read the entire webpage before signing up.
