TEDxGöteborg Powered by TED’s mission: “Ideas Change Everything”
🌍 Inspiring Gothenburg since 2009 💡 Sharing ideas that matter 🚀

TEDxGöteborg has been active in Gothenburg since 2009, created in the spirit of TED's mantra that "ideas change everything". We believe that sharing ideas can change attitudes, lives, and ultimately our world. We draw our speakers from an incredible regional talent pool, who come from any discipline, challenge the norms, and think both locally and globally. We’ve reached thousands in our live audi

ences and over thirty million have viewed our resulting videos. What new ideas are being created and discussed in Gothenburg? How can we reflect Gothenburg outward to the world? What can the rest of the world learn from our community?

Can we harvest timber and (still) let nature thrive?

Turns out, we can.

70% of our country is forest, and forestry is one of Sweden's most important industries. It shapes our landscape, our economy, and our communities. But what if the way we do it could be even better?

At 20:30, Sweden turns off the lights for Earth Hour

What difference will you make for our earth?

From being called "Mister Afrah" to being one of Yemen's most fearles voices.

Afrah Nasser went from writing under hidden names to becoming one of Yemen's most fearless voices for democracy and human rights. Some years ago she spoke at TEDxGöteborg to talk about her journey as a journalist and human-rights defender.

This International Women's Day, we celebrate the women who refuse to be silenced.

Where art and science met beneath a turning Earth.

On October 17, our TEDxGöteborg Salon “Earth, Ice, Ocean, Space” brought science, art, and performance together beneath a magnificent globe at Fässbergs kyrka.

Through ice and oceans, mathematics and music, stars and stillness. The evening offered perspective, beauty, and connection.

Here’s a glimpse of that night, where art and science met under a slowly turning Earth.

Behind every TEDxGöteborg event is an incredible team of volunteers.

They’re the ones who welcome guests, cue the lights, keep the timing, and make sure everything flows when it matters most.

At our October 17th Salon “Earth, Ice, Ocean, Space,” they did all that and more, with calm, care, and teamwork beneath a slowly turning Earth. From setting up the space to closing the doors at the end of the night, they carried the spirit of the event in everything they did.

A special thank you to , the creative force behind the evening, whose vision and artistry shaped how it all came together.

What a night beneath the Earth! 🌍

On October 17, our TEDxGöteborg Salon “Earth, Ice, Ocean, Space” brought science, art, and performance together beneath Luke Jerram’s breathtaking GAIA Globe at Fässbergs kyrka.

🌌 From the stars above, we gained new perspective.
❄️ From the ice, we glimpsed our planet’s memory.
🌊 From mathematics, we saw the hidden motion of the sea — and even played a little rock, paper, scissors!
⭐ Through dance, we felt the Earth move.
🎶 Through music, we connected heart and perspective.
🧘‍♂️ Through mindfulness, we came back to stillness.

Guided by Christopher O’Reilly’s warmth and curiosity, and welcomed by Johannes Imberg and the generous team at Fässbergs kyrka, the evening became something truly special. 💫

Thank you to our partners.

This evening, beneath Luke Jerram’s GAIA at Fässbergs kyrka, TEDxGöteborg invites our community to pause, reflect, and reconnect with the world we share. Our Salon brings together science, art, movement, and music, reminding us that powerful ideas often emerge where disciplines meet.

Moments like this don’t happen on their own. They come to life through collaboration and a shared belief in the power of ideas.

We are deeply grateful to our partners:

Venue: Johannes Imberg at Fässbergs Kyrka
Funding: Global Business Gate Gothenburg, ECARX Sweden
Creative: United Spaces, All My Friends Are Stars

Your support helps us create experiences where curiosity thrives, creativity inspires, and connection deepens. Because at TEDxGöteborg, we believe that ideas change everything.
