Governor’s Visit No. 46 of 60 (20/11)
🩵 Now that we are enjoying the bright beauty of early summer, I would like to look back on a visit that I greatly appreciated during the dark days of late autumn. Together with my Assistant Governor, Agneta Söderlund, I visited STOCKHOLM INTERNATIONAL ROTARY CLUB. It was a most enjoyable occasion, characterised by warm fellowship, excellent company, and a genuinely welcoming atmosphere.
🩵My sincere thanks to Club President Federica Grosso and all the friendly and dedicated members for their warm hospitality and for the opportunity to visit such a wonderful club.
🩵Stockholm International Rotary Club is a unique English-speaking club that brings together internationally minded professionals, expatriates, embassy representatives, and people from many cultural backgrounds. The club continues to attract younger professionals and offers a dynamic, inclusive, and engaging environment.
🩵A particular strength of the club is its strong sense of fellowship. Members enjoy active participation, a welcoming atmosphere, and regular evening meetings at a centrally located hotel, often featuring distinguished guest speakers who provide both inspiration and valuable insights.
🩵The club’s thoughtful membership process has proved successful, with five new members joining during the year and further strengthening its vibrant and diverse community.
🩵Service remains at the heart of the club’s activities. Members support The Rotary Foundation and PolioPlus, while also contributing to several service projects. A notable long-standing initiative is the club’s support of the charity ”Alla Ska Få Mat” through both financial donations and food contributions.
🩵The club also maintains strong connections with foreign embassies and international businesses in Stockholm and plays an active role in RYLA and the Stockholm City Business Network. With a healthy balance of age and gender, and strong engagement within Rotary District 2355, the club continues to make a meaningful contribution to Rotary.
🩵Overall, Stockholm International Rotary Club successfully combines an international outlook, meaningful service, and exceptional fellowship. It is a vibrant, welcoming, and highly valued club that enriches both Rotary and District 2355.
