Strengthening for Livelihood Recovery in
Vet-Care Organization (VCO), in partnership with SOS Children’s Villages Sudan and with funding from the Dutch Relief Alliance (DRA), has successfully completed a five-day Business Skills Development and Business Plan Preparation Training (15-16/07/2026) under the (SDNJRP 2026) .
The training brought together 100 livelihood participants, including 50 participants from White Nile State and 50 from Kassala State, who were selected as beneficiaries of the project’s livelihood component.
The training was designed to strengthen participants’ practical capacity to plan, launch, and manage their income-generating activities following the provision of productive assets.
Rather than relying mainly on classroom lectures, the programme used a participatory and practice-oriented approach, combining group exercises, business simulations, interactive learning tools, coaching and the preparation of business plans based on participants’ actual livelihood activities.

Customer identification and pricing
Cost estimation and profit calculation
Basic cash-flow management
Product quality and customer service
Business risk management
Procurement planning
First-month operational planning
Key Results
100 complete business plans developed and validated.
97% of participants achieved the programme's minimum competency level.
108% estimated improvement in learning, with the average assessment score increasing from 8.25/20 before the training to 17.15/20 after the training.
The results demonstrate the value of combining skills development, practical business planning, and structured follow-up to strengthen participants’ readiness to implement their livelihood activities.
