Mr Albagir Altahir, MBBS, MRCS (Ed), FRCS (Ed), is a Consultant Vascular Surgeon at Leeds Teaching Hospitals, UK, where he contributes to the vascular and trauma on-call service. He has a strong interest in endovascular therapy and vascular trauma management and is committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based care within multidisciplinary teams.

Speaker:

Mr Mansoor Husain MBBS, MSc (Distinction), MRCS-Ed, FRCS-ED (Vascular) is a Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon at the Kent and Canterbury Hospital.

After graduating from Khartoum College of Medical Sciences in 2008, he completed surgical training in Sudan and the United Kingdom, including a Cardiothoracic Fellowship at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham. He holds an MSc with Distinction from the University of Edinburgh and specialises in open and endovascular treatment of arterial and venous disease.

He serves as Vascular Trauma Course Director and maintains an active role in surgical education, research, and Establishing Sudanese national vascular training programmes. Recognised for his commitment to teaching, academic excellence, and innovation, Mr Husain continues to contribute to the advancement of vascular surgery through education, quality improvement initiatives, and the development of modern vascular services.

تُعلن كلٌّ من الجمعية الطبية السودانية الأمريكية (SAMA) والجمعية السودانية لجراحي الأوعية الدموية (SudAVaS) عن فتح باب الترشيحات بشكل مشترك لجائزة الدكتور عصام عثمان للجراح المتميز – لعام 2026.

أسّس الدكتور عصام عثمان جمعية SudAVaS، وأطلق برنامج (Trauma ECHO) التابع لـ SAMA، كما قاد بعثة جراحية إلى بورتسودان في ذروة الأزمة التي شهدها السودان. وقد وافته المنية في سبتمبر 2023. وتمثل هذه الجائزة استمرارًا لرسالته وعمله من قبل المؤسستين.

ما الذي نبحث عنه:

- التميز الأكاديمي والإسهام العلمي
- الإشراف والتوجيه لتدريب الجراحين السودانيين
- العمل الإنساني وحشد الموارد
- إظهار القيادة في تطوير النظم الجراحية
- تقديم الخدمة داخل السودان خلال فترة الحرب

تتم عملية الاختيار بسرية تامة، وفق نظام تقييم دقيق، وبإشراف مشترك من المؤسستين. ويُقيَّم المرشحون وفق معايير منظمة من 100 نقطة، ويفوز صاحب أعلى متوسط نقاط.
