In the 16 Days of Activism campaign for the elimination of violence against women and girls (VAWG) around the world, is it time to develop a TFGBV response framework in Sudan?
This blog draws on insights from focus group discussions (FGDs) with 12 Sudanese women, including activists, politicians, journalists, and women in Emergency Response Rooms.
This blog aims to highlight these lived experiences of these women and present actionable recommendations for Sudanese feminist groups to create safer, digital environments for Sudanese women.
The discussion made it clear that OGBV is not only a gender issue; it’s a political strategy employed by perpetrators to undermine women’s voices.
Participants emphasized that without structured protection systems, survivors remain isolated and vulnerable.
At the movement level, women called for scaling up digital security and digital literacy programs.

في حملة الـ16 يومًا 16 يومًا لمناهضة العنف ضد المرأة والفتيات في جميع أنحاء العالم، هل حان الوقت لتطوير إطار عمل للاستجابة للعنف القائم على النوع الاجتماعي في السودان؟
تستند هذه المدونة إلى رؤى مستقاة من نقاشات مع 12 امرأة سودانية، من بينهن ناشطات وسياسيات وصحفيات ونساء في غرف الاستجابة للطوارئ.
تهدف هذه المدونة إلى تسليط الضوء على هذه التجارب المعاشة لهؤلاء النساء وتقديم توصيات عملية للمجموعات النسوية السودانية لخلق بيئات رقمية أكثر أمانًا للنساء السودانيات.
أوضح النقاش أن العنف القائم على النوع الاجتماعي ليس مجرد قضية جندرية؛ بل هو استراتيجية سياسية لتقويض أصوات النساء.
أكدت المشاركات أنه بدون أنظمة حماية منظمة، تبقى الناجيات معزولات رقميا.
على مستوى الحركة، دعت النساء إلى توسيع نطاق برامج الأمن الرقمي والمحو الأمية الرقمية.
