National Youth Policy Committee Advances Work on Seychelles' New Youth Policy!

Today, the National Youth Policy Committee, chaired by Ms. Angelique Juliette, convened at the Department of Youth and Sports to deliberate on a series of key matters relating to the formulation of the new National Youth Policy for Seychelles.

The meeting was conducted in a hybrid format, enabling members who were unable to attend in person to participate virtually and contribute to the discussions.

Throughout the session, members adopted several action items and voted on a number of important decisions that will help guide the policy development process. Among the key agenda items was the adoption of the definition of "youth" for the upcoming policy. Extensive discussions were held, allowing members to carefully consider various perspectives before reaching a consensus.

The Committee also finalized the thematic areas that will form the foundation of the policy's pillars, ensuring that the future policy reflects the realities, aspirations, and priorities of young people in Seychelles.

The Committee was also pleased to welcome Ms. Hendreika Monthy as its newest member, representing the environment sector. Her inclusion further strengthens the Committee's multi-sectoral composition and will help ensure that environmental and sustainability considerations are appropriately reflected in the policy development process.

The meeting concluded on a positive note, with members reaffirming their commitment to developing a comprehensive and forward-looking policy that will contribute to the empowerment and development of youth across the country.
