Another very positive delivery of The Salvation Army’s child protection training was co facilitated by Captains Joycelyn and Brad along with Bonosi Church leader Pastor Apollos.

Our District Leaders Captains Joycelyn and Brad are currently visiting Bonosi church in Western Province. Fittingly this was one of the places visited by late Envoys Esther and Alick Hagi. We farewelled Esther this week as she went to be with her Lord.

More recently supported by Area Officers Festus and Fred Ganiomea we are grateful for the seeds planted and the ongoing growth of God’s kingdom in this place.

The Captains arrived late on Friday to a warm welcome and a cool breeze before sharing in fellowship and home league on Saturday and Sunday morning worship. Monday will see the team provide child protection training for church leaders and members before returning overnight Tuesday to Honiara.

We are grateful to Auburn Salvation Army in Australia who provided funds and bibles for this trip.

We have pleasure in sharing the September edition of Tok Stori with you. Sadly as we were preparing this edition we received word of the passing of Retired Envoy Esther Hagi. Please join us in praying for the Hagi family and the soldiers of Honiara Corps where she has been worshipping until ill health made this impossible. We know she rests peacefully in the arms of our loving saviour Jesus Christ 🙏

We write with the sad news of the passing of Retired Envoy Esther Hagi.

Esther passed away peacefully today after a prolonged illness. She was surrounded by family and has been visited regularly by Honiara corps officers and leaders over these final weeks of her life.

Warranted on the 21st Day of November 2021 and retired in 2025 Envoy Esther served faithfully the mission of God through the Salvation Army in the Solomon Islands and will be deeply missed.

Well done good and faithful servant. Rest peacefully in the arms of your loving Saviour 🙏

A wonderful time of worship this morning in Rauai as we continued to explore the theme of this weeks mission trip to North Malaita. “What does the Spirit say to the churches?” We have been truly blessed as people have worshipped, prayed, spent time in the scriptures, learnt how to keep our children safe and shared in much fellowship and food. We give all the praise, glory and honour to God. Captains Brad and Joycelyn with Aux Captain Wency are safe and sound in Auki and will depart in the early hours of Monday morning bound for Honiara. 😁🙏

Saturday saw the visiting District Leadership team in partnership with Pastor John deliver The Salvation Army’s Child Protection training. The response from those attending was very positive and taking the journey in 3 languages was a wonderful opportunity and ensured understanding from the participants. The night concluded with combined worship with the surrounding churches with their Pastors who came to join us. Captain Brad shared the word from Revelation 2 and James 1 calling us all to not only Listen but Obey the word of God; reminding us that in obedience there is both Surrender to God’s will and the need to take Action in service to Him. The worship was powerful and the Spirit of the Lord was on His people. We look forward to our Sunday worship together and are all excited to see what God will do next in this area of Malaita. 🙏

Aux Captain Wency, Captain Joycelyn and Captain Brad arrived safely in Rauai and were warmly received by our brothers and sisters in Christ. After a busy few days at Gateway and Kafomauri it was good to take a breath, wash the dust from our feet and Tok Stori with our friends over Kai Kai and of course coffee ☕️😀🙏 Today will see us conduct child protection training together, Captain Joycelyn will lead the Home League and then this evening we will enjoy combined fellowship as Rauai host our friends from the surrounding villages and churches along with their leaders.
The sun ☀️ comes up there’s a new day dawning! Thank you God for all that you are doing and will do ok our lives today🙏

Captains Brad and Joycelyn along with Aux Captain Wency are midway through their visit to North Malaita. They have experienced wonderful fellowship at Gateway and Kafomauri with a strong delegation of corps members and leaders from Gateway travelling for fellowship together at Kafomauri on Thursday. Now on their way to Rauai for the weekend we invite your prayers for the ongoing positive impact of this mission trip.
