A landmark moment for climate justice has just taken place with the United Nations welcoming the Court’s rulings.

This is a major turning point of climate accountability, and will reinforce States’ legal obligations to prevent further climate harm.

The science and law could not be clearer, States must protect those most affected by the climate crisis.

We not only reaffirmed the ruling of the International Court of Justice, we have reaffirmed the importance of multilateralism and global unity.

Our heartfelt gratitude and congratulations to Vanuatu and the Core Group for leading on this resolution and bringing climate change to the world stage.

Now, on to the next leg of our ongoing journey towards climate justice.
