To Him be all the glory 🙏🏽

We closed the week with full hearts and renewed purpose.

Last Friday marked the end of our Story-Based Trauma Healing Training. A powerful journey of learning, sharing, and healing together. Over the days, participants walked through stories, reflected deeply, and gained practical tools to bring hope and restoration to others in their communities.
It was more than just a training. It was a space where wounds were acknowledged, voices were heard, and God’s healing presence was felt among us.
As we step forward, we carry not only new skills, but a calling to go and help heal the wounds of the heart in our homes, churches, and communities.
Thank you to everyone who participated, supported, and prayed. The journey doesn’t end here—it begins. ❤️‍🩹

A meaningful week has begun as our Story Based Trauma Healing Training is now underway at SITAG Training Room.
Story-Based Trauma Healing is an approach to helping people heal emotional and spiritual wounds by using stories as the main tool for reflection, connection, and recovery. It is often used in churches, communities, schools, and post-conflict settings because stories are natural, memorable, and safe ways to explore pain and hope.
Participants are gathering to learn how stories can bring hope, healing, and restoration to hearts affected by pain and trauma. Through listening, sharing, and practical tools, this training equips people to walk alongside others with compassion and care.

This approach should be effective in the Solomon Islands context where oral storytelling, faith, and community relationships are strong.

DAY 5 - HOW CAN I FORGIVE?
Forgiveness is an important part of trauma healing because it helps release the heavy burden of anger, bitterness, and pain carried in the heart. It does not mean pretending the hurt never happened, excusing wrong actions, or trusting someone who remains unsafe. Instead, forgiveness is a choice to place justice in God’s hands and begin freeing yourself from the control of the wound. In the healing journey, forgiveness often takes time and may happen step by step as God brings comfort and strength. When we forgive, we open space for peace, restoration, and hope, allowing our hearts to heal and move forward. 🙏🏽✝️❤️‍🩹

"LETTING GO CEREMONY"
Today we did a symbolic act of release. We wrote down painful memories, hurts, anger, fears, or burdens we have been carrying. As we placed the papers into the fire, we are not pretending the pain never happened. We are choosing not to let the pain control us anymore. We release it to God, and we open our hearts to healing, peace, and hope.

As these papers burn, we remember that God sees every tear and knows every wound. We bring our pain to the cross and ask Him to carry what we can no longer carry ourselves.
The fire consumes the paper, but healing is a process, a journey. We trust Him to turn ashes into beauty and sorrow into joy.

Today is a one step forward decision to begin releasing pain and embracing hope. 🙏🏽💜✝️❤️‍🩹😇

DAY 4 - TAKING YOUR PAIN TO THE CROSS ✝️
Taking your pain to the cross means bringing your deepest wounds, grief, anger, and disappointments to Jesus, trusting that He understands suffering because He also suffered on the cross. Trauma often leaves heavy burdens in the heart, but we do not have to carry them alone. At the cross, Christ invites us to release our pain, receive His comfort, and find forgiveness, strength, and hope. This does not always remove the memory of what happened, but it begins the healing process by reminding us that God cares for our suffering and can turn brokenness into new life. Through prayer, honesty, and faith, the cross becomes a place where pain is exchanged for peace and healing. 🙏🏽❤️‍🩹😇

DAY 3 - HOW CAN WE HELP SOMEONE WHO IS GRIEVING?
We can help someone who is grieving by being present, patient, and compassionate as they walk through their pain. Grief is a natural response to loss, and people heal best when they feel safe, heard, and not rushed. In trauma healing, support often begins with listening more than speaking, allowing tears, silence, and honest emotions without judgment. Practical help—such as checking in, assisting with daily needs, and remembering important dates—can also bring comfort. Faith and hope may gently encourage them when welcomed, reminding them they are not alone. While we cannot remove their sorrow, loving companionship can help carry the burden and support healing over time through what we call the GRIEF JOURNEY - a safe way to walk through the grieving season. 💔✝️🙏🏽❤️‍🩹

DAY 2 - HOW CAN THE WOUNDS OF OUR HEARTS BE HEALED ?
The wounds of our hearts can be healed through a journey of truth, safety, and compassionate care. Emotional pain caused by trauma, loss, abuse, or betrayal often leaves deep scars, but healing begins when we acknowledge the hurt instead of hiding it. As we share our stories in a safe and supportive community, receive understanding, and express grief honestly, the burden becomes lighter. In trauma healing, faith also plays an important role—God brings comfort, restores dignity, and offers hope to the brokenhearted. Through prayer, forgiveness where possible, healthy support, and time, wounded hearts can gradually recover, regain strength, and discover peace again. ✝️🙏🏽
