๐ฉ๐ฝโ๐๐จ๐ปโ๐ Opportunity - As a result of the partnership between the Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme - SPREP and the University of Newcastle, researchers are keen to enhance the quality of public discourse by increasing about ecologies in Island nations and how we can better support informed public discourse about loss, , and .
A PhD scholarship is being offered for a research student to develop knowledge on the information ecologies of SPREP and its member countries, with a focus on understanding how โfactsโ are translated from institutional and expert contexts to the public sphere. Specifically, the research student will consider how a โfact bankโ can effectively enhance journalistic practice, collaborating with journalists to ensure that resources are fit for purpose.
Interested applicants should send an email expressing their interest along with scanned copies of their academic transcripts, CV, a brief statement of their research interests and a proposal that specifically links them to the research project. The deadline for expressions of interest is 08 September 2024.
