يسرنا أن نقدم لكم فريق القيمين الفنيين لبينالي الدرعية للفن المعاصر 2026.

سيقود هذه الدورة المديران الفنيان نورا رازيان وصبيح أحمد، إلى جانب فريق دولي من القيمين الفنيين، يضم كلاً من: معن أبو طالب، مي مكي، كابيلو مالاتسي، ولانتيان شي، إلى جانب المهندس المعماري المشارك ومصمم المعرض سامي زرقة.

رؤى متنوعة وتوجهات فنية فريدة، اجتمعت لرسم ملامح الدورة القادمة من البينالي.
سينطلق البينالي في حيّ جاكس بمنطقة الدرعية في الرياض بتاريخ 30 يناير 2026.

We are pleased to introduce the curatorial team for the Diriyah Contemporary Art Biennale 2026.

Leading the Biennale are Artistic Directors Nora Razian and Sabih Ahmed, joined by a team of international curators: Maan Abu Taleb, May Makki, Kabelo Malatsie, and Lantian Xie, alongside Sammy Zarka as Associate Architect and Exhibition Designer.

Together, they will shape the upcoming edition—bringing diverse perspectives and curatorial voices into dialogue.
The Biennale will return to the JAX District of Diriyah, Riyadh on January 30, 2026.

البداية — انطلاقة الرحلة.
استعرض هذا المعرض مساراً ينتقل من المادي إلى الروحاني، مروراً بالآثار التاريخية التي احتضنتها المواقع المقدسة، ووصولاً إلى الأعمال المعاصرة التي تدعو إلى السكون والتأمل، في محاولة لاستكشاف كيفية انتقال المعاني العميقة عبر الأشياء، والذكريات، والعوالم غير المرئية.

AlBidayah — the beginning of the journey.

This gallery traced a passage from the physical to the intangible: from historical relics once held at sacred sites, to contemporary works that invited stillness and reflection. Together, they offered a meditation on how meaning travels — across objects, memories, and unseen realms.

“القادمون” هو عمل فني تركيبي تشاركي من إبداع الفنان عثمان یوسفزاده، ويتكون من مقاعد تقليدية منسوجة (تسمى بالأوردية: بيرهي)، موضوعة ضمن مكعب ضخم.

يقوم الزوار بتفكيك هذا العمل الفني وإعادة تشكيله، ليتحول من وحدة واحدة متماسكة إلى أشكال متعددة—ثم يعود من جديد.

تحمل هذه المقاعد، المصبوغة بالأحمر والأزرق، ذكريات من ريف باكستان، وتستحضر جذور الفنان، وحكايات الهجرة والتنقل وإيجاد وطن جديد.

هذا العمل مستوحى من بساطة العناصر الجمالية في أعمال رشيد أرائين، ومن الحياة اليومية، كما أنه يقدم لنا مساحة للجلوس، والتأمل، والبدء من جديد.

هذا العمل معروض الآن في قسم المظلة، ضمن فعاليات بينالي الفنون الإسلامية 2025. مستمر حتى 25 مايو.

Osman Yousefzada’s Arrivals is a participatory installation composed of traditional woven stools (peerhi in Urdu) arranged in a monolithic cube. 

The structure is meant to be dismantled and reassembled by visitors, shifting from unity to multiplicity—and back again.

The stools, dyed in red and blue, carry memories of rural Pakistan, echoing the artist’s family heritage and broader stories of migration, movement, and resettlement.

Inspired by the modular minimalism of Rasheed Araeen and the rituals of everyday life, Arrivals offers a space to sit, to reflect, to begin again.

Now on view under AlMidhallah—Islamic Arts Biennale 2025. Open until May 25.

في عملها “في أعماق لياليَّ”، المعروض في قسم المظلة، ترسم نوهيمي بيريز باستخدام الفحم نباتات نادرة مهددة بالانقراض من السعودية وكولومبيا ، وتطرزها بشكل جزئي بالخيوط لتعبر عن قدرتها على التجدد.

المشهد، المصنوع من الفحم—وهو خامة متكررة في أعمالها—يبدو ككائن حي جريح، يراقب العنف الواقع على البيئة ويحمل آثاره في صمت ناطق. في هذا العمل متعدد الطبقات، تعيد بيريز تخيل الطبيعة ككائن هش وحكيم، مثقل بالجراح… لكنه لا يزال قادراً على النمو والتجدد.

من خلال الذاكرة والمادة والاستعارات البلاغية، يعبر هذا العمل عن قدرتنا على تجاوز الكوارث—وقدرة الأرض على الاحتفاظ بذاكرة الزمن.

Nohemí Pérez’s Sobre el fondo de mis noches (Over the depths of my nights), on view in AlMidhallah, is a charcoal drawing of endangered plants from Saudi Arabia and Colombia—partially embroidered in thread to express their potential for renewal.

Rendered in coal, a recurring material in her work, the landscape appears scarred and sentient—witnessing ecological violence and bearing its burdens. In this multi-layered composition, Pérez reimagines nature as both fragile and wise, wounded and regenerative.

Through memory, matter, and metaphor, the work meditates on how we survive disaster—and how the land remembers.

Now on view under AlMidhallah—Islamic Arts Biennale 2025. Open until May 25.
