Delhi's taxi and tourist transport operators have announced a march to Parliament on August 4, protesting the implementation of E20 (20% ethanol-blended) petrol. The associations claim the fuel has led to reduced mileage, higher maintenance costs, and engine performance issues, particularly in vehicles manufactured before 2015. They are demanding an independent scientific review of the ethanol blending policy involving consumers, transporters, automobile manufacturers, and technical experts. The group has also called for a review of the 80 kmph speed limit imposed on All India Tourist Permit taxis and buses.
