Angat Buhay launched the pilot run of Angat Kahimati, a community-based mental health program that provides localized psychosocial support to those in need.

During the launch, Naga City Mayor Leni Gerona Robredo emphasized that while mental health is frequently discussed, it is still often viewed as an extraordinary concern—when in fact, it should be addressed where people first seek help: in the barangay.

Angat Kahimati starts where care matters most: sa mismong komunidad. By empowering our barangay health workers to assess, screen, and recognize mental health needs, and by assigning a Barangay Mental Health Care Coordinator, people can access support through an integrated referral framework. One that is closer, safer, and rooted in trust.
