In whatever Bamporeze does, children are targeted directly or indirectly. The general focus of Bamporeze programs is on vulnerable and marginalized poor households with special attention on vulnerable families in rural areas. Bamporeze recognizes that the family is the basic structure of the community and bringing change in living condition should start at the household level for finally have impa
ct on community level. Targeting vulnerable families rather than individuals help to reach even the voiceless groups (children, women, and people living with disability) and support them through a holistic approach. Specially, targeting the family enable also to reach both people infected and affected by HIV/AIDS. Bamporeze believe that women as caregivers are closer to children and empowering them has a positive impact on the well being of children and the household in general. Regarding childcare and protection, we recognize that children are the future of every nation and special emphasis should be putted on childcare and protection to enable him/her to become active citizen and change agent in the future.
