Aspire Debate Rwanda (ADR) is a Non Governmental Organization operating in Rwanda which was founded in 2013 by university youth volunteers from UR-College of Science and Technology (former KIST) with the zeal to educate, empower, enhance and promote public speaking, communication skills, leadership skills and critical thinking capacities among youths. ADR as a platform uses a combination of tools

such as debates, book reading, writing, open talk shows, workshops, trainings and speech presentations to accomplish her mission and objectives within Schools and Higher Learning Institutions in Rwanda.

At Aspire Debate Rwanda, we have witnessed countless young people who, despite being technically equipped, struggled to voice their ideas and make an impact. Through our debate education program, we transform that potential into confidence, enabling youth to speak out and advocate for change.

Our program empowers participants to challenge the status quo, analyze issues critically, and propose innovative solutions as articulate, confident leaders. By honing their communication and leadership skills, they become catalysts for progress in their communities and beyond.

Aspire Debate Rwanda programs are not just about winning debate competitions; they are about shaping the next generation of bold, solution-driven leaders who can inspire and drive meaningful change across their communities.

Our Story

Aspire Debate Rwanda (ADR) is a legally registered non-profit making NGO that was founded in 2014, with zeal to promote public speaking through debate education and other forms of public speeches, empowers youth on leadership and communication skills to nurture their critical thinking. Our country office is located in Kiyovu cell, Inside UR-College of Science and Technology premises next to English Department offices.

ADR aspires to put youth at the center of all national programs through engaging them in advocacy, awareness and implementation of various categories of the proved agendas. And also believe that using debate as an art promotes reciprocal thoughtful understanding and up-to-date citizenship around the world which leads to increased critical thinking, analysis and tolerance, enhanced cultural exchange and greater academic excellence. The organization empowers both in school and out of school youth through its three major programs namely, Education, Governance and Leadership, and youth and women empowerment respectively.
