CECYDAR is a non-profit organization under Rwandan law, founded in 1992 under the inspiration of the Catholic Christian couple of Cyprian and Daphrose Rugamba. This unusual couple has been touched by the miserable living conditions of street children! It was then the genesis of this initiative anchored in a clear and deep vision: "Aba bana bitaweho, aho kuba abaterashozi bazavamo abaterashema" to
mean that once the Street children are well supported, the can become the pride of the society. This couple was brutally assassinated at the first sight of the Genocide in 1994. And in its aftermath, the Emmanuel Community of Rwanda, which they also initiated in Rwanda, has undertaken to take responsibility for their work.

CECYDAR is located in City of Kigali, Gasabo district, Remera sector, created to support street children especially those living in the urban environment of Kigali. Today we are ambitious to extend our interventions in other provinces across the country.
