Debate competitions are helping students find their voices and build skills that will serve them for a lifetime.

Through these competitions, students develop critical thinking, confident communication, and the ability to listen respectfully to different perspectives. These skills prepare them to become thoughtful leaders who can make a difference in their communities and beyond.

We are grateful to see our students grow in confidence, using the gifts God has given them to learn, lead, and inspire others. 💚

“God, if one of my children ever becomes a doctor...”

That was the prayer of William’s mother during a frightening, complicated labor. She was afraid she would lose her life.

William was born into difficult circumstances. His family lived in one small room. Life was harsh, and dreaming felt impossible. So she taught her children the stories of David and Joseph, of courage and of people who walked through hardship and came out the other side. And she kept praying.

“Then the school came and brought exactly what we needed.”

William came to Hope Haven as a little boy in 2013. Through education, he started to see that things could change. Today he dreams of becoming a medical doctor so he can help people in need.

School is in full swing at Hope Haven Rwanda, and so is HOPE.
In these classrooms, learning is more than books and lessons. It is laughter, friendship, confidence, and the freedom to dream about what comes next.
Because when children have the opportunity to learn, they have the opportunity to believe in a brighter future.
And sometimes, that hope looks a lot like dancing. 💚

They give their blood, sweat, and tears. Literally.

For many families at Hope Haven, sending their children to school would not be financially possible. So they give what they can: their time, their talents, their strength, and their hands.

Some parents teach.
Some work in agriculture, helping grow the food that feeds our students.
And some help build the very school their children attend.

They work not simply for today, but for a brighter future for their children and their entire community.

We believe faith calls us to serve, to work with our hands, and to use what we have been given to lift others up.

At Hope Haven, we build that future together. Brick by brick. Lesson by lesson. Prayer by prayer. 💚

From a refugee camp to a university scholarship, Priscillah Kembabazi knows what it means to overcome hardship.

Years ago, she made a promise to herself: to help break the cycle of hardship for the next generation.

Today, as Hope Haven’s Director of Families, Priscillah uses her own story to remind students and their families that their circumstances today do not have to define their tomorrow.

With hard work, opportunity, and love, a brighter future is possible.

Today is an exciting milestone for our Hope Haven graduates pursuing careers as medical doctors and healthcare professionals! 💚

These aspiring healthcare leaders have officially begun their internships at La Croix du Sud Hospital, one of Rwanda’s largest private hospitals, located in Remera-Gisimenti in Gasabo District.

With more than 18 specialties, including internal medicine, gynecology and obstetrics, pediatrics, dentistry, urology, ENT, and more, La Croix du Sud provides an incredible environment for our graduates to learn, grow, and gain hands-on experience.

We are so proud to watch the next generation of Rwandan healthcare professionals take this important step toward their dreams! 💚

Meet Stessy. 💚
At just 6 years old, she loves to draw, color, play with her friends, and dream about becoming a doctor someday.
But behind her bright smile is a family working hard just to make ends meet. Stessy’s mother is raising her children on her own, taking whatever work she can find to provide food and a small home for her family.
Still, Stessy dreams big.
Becoming her Hope Angel means helping give Stessy the opportunity to learn, grow, and pursue the future she imagines for herself.

We were honored to welcome Her Excellency Ambassador Einat Weiss, Ambassador of Israel to Rwanda, to the Hope Haven Christian School campus, where she was warmly received by Hope Haven Founder and President Susan Hollern

Speaking to our students during her visit, H.E. Ambassador Weiss encouraged them to recognize and be grateful for the opportunities before them, to thank God for the doors that have opened, and to make the most of every chance they receive.

Reflecting on Hope Haven’s work—from education to agriculture and the many opportunities being created for young people—she described Hope Haven School as a unique project and Susan’s work as a “holy work.”

Most importantly, she shared her hope for what comes next: “I see this as the start of a long-term partnership with Hope Haven.”

We are grateful for her visit, her words of encouragement to our students, and the possibilities ahead.
