Four years ago, Juliet began her Resonate journey as a facilitator, marking the start of a chapter filled with growth, purpose, and transformation.

From facilitating workshops to later becoming our Partnerships Associate, she has made an impact, built meaningful partnerships, and contributed so much along the way.

Thank you, Juliet, for the commitment, empathy, and heart you brought to Resonate and to the women and girls we serve. We are grateful to have had you as part of our story and wish you all the best in what comes next!

Today, we celebrate the courage, ideas, and potential of young people shaping a better future for themselves and their communities.

At Resonate, we see every day what becomes possible when young people are given the space, confidence, and tools to lead, take action, and turn their aspirations into reality.

As we continue working alongside young people across Rwanda and East Africa, we remain inspired by their determination to create opportunities, challenge barriers, and drive meaningful change.

Here’s to a generation that is not only the future, but is already leading today.

Happy International !

After completing my TVET training, I stayed home unemployed and unable to afford my basic needs. Then I joined a Resonate workshop, and learned that being a leader means taking action in the face of a challenge, not waiting. So I decided to act.

I used my transportation allowance from the workshop to rent a sewing machine and started by redesigning my own clothes to showcase my skills.

Today, I own my sewing machine, earn an income from tailoring, contribute to my family’s well-being, and I am working toward owning a second machine.

I started with what I had, and I’m proud of how far I’ve come.” ~Delphine, Gira Ubushobozi (Be Powerful) participant

As we prepare for another phase of the technical and financial literacy training with our alumni groups, our team has been engaging with district leaders in Nyaruguru, Nyabihu, and Burera districts, to co-create and align on the foundations of the training.

The training is meant to equip the alumni groups with practical skills to strengthen their businesses, improve their financial knowledge, and help them make their projects more profitable and sustainable.

Through these conversations, local authorities, sector leaders, and community volunteers are coming together to support our alumni as they continue growing their businesses and creating opportunities for themselves and their communities.

We are grateful for the commitment and partnership that make this work possible.

We are excited for our CEO, Claire Uwineza, to be joining the Segal Family Foundation and bold leaders in Nairobi this week for “Segal 2026: The Next Beat”.

If you will be at the conference and are interested in investing in bold, scalable approaches that expand opportunities for women and girls, connect and explore what’s possible together.

Teen mothers carry more than most people see: stigma, isolation, and silence that settles into how they see themselves.

But good days do not come from ignoring what is hard. They come from communities that say: what happened to you is not the end of your story.

At Resonate, that is what we are building. Because we believe that silence can be broken and when it is, a young woman begins to rediscover who she truly is.

One of the greatest advantages of being a young person in Rwanda is having role models and leaders who are willing to listen, engage, and support young people’s ideas and aspirations.

We were honored to meet with the Minister of State for Youth and Arts for an introductory discussion on the Ingoga Growth Program and its role in addressing youth unemployment through youth-led and community-driven approaches across Rwanda.

Thank you, Honorable Minister of State, for the warm reception, valuable insights, and shared commitment to creating more dignified and fulfilling opportunities for young people.
We look forward to continued collaboration as we work together to turn this shared vision into lasting impact.

We are excited to announce the Ingoga Growth Program, a youth-led initiative led by Resonate in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, and implemented by a consortium of seven youth-led organizations: Resonate, Imagine WE, Impanuro Girls Initiative - IGI, Isôoko Community Development, Iwacu In Africa, Love and Hands, and Starlight Africa.

Working across 20 districts in Rwanda, the program aims to address youth employment challenges through youth- and community-driven approaches, with a deliberate focus on expanding economic opportunities for young people.

Together, we are committed to creating more dignified and fulfilling opportunities for Rwanda's young people, especially young women and other disadvantaged youth groups.

As we celebrate , we honor the courage and sacrifice of brave men and women who fought for our nation’s freedom and we reflect on the remarkable journey Rwanda has taken since.
May their legacy continue to inspire us to build a country rooted in unity, resilience, dignity, and opportunity for all.
