✨ June was a month of milestones, momentum, and meaningful connections.
From strengthening regional collaboration at the YouthConnekt Mano River Union Forum to officially launching the journey to and opening applications to host the 2027 Summit, we continued building opportunities for Africa’s young people.

Here’s a look back at some of the moments that shaped the month. 🚀🌍

🚀 The journey to the YouthConnekt Africa Summit 2026 officially began with the unveiling of the theme, “Shaping the Generational Mission,” and the signing of the Host Country Agreement. The countdown is now on as Kigali, Rwanda 🇷🇼 prepares to host Africa’s largest youth gathering from 25–27 November 2026. 🌍✨

🇸🇱 The YouthConnekt Mano River Union Forum brought together 1000 young leaders, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and partners in Freetown to unlock new opportunities for Africa’s youth. The Forum featured a keynote address by H.E. Dr. Fatima Maada Bio, First Lady of Sierra Leone, who advanced conversations on women’s economic empowerment, and marked the launch of the MRU Young Women Leadership Initiative, reinforcing a shared commitment to youth-led development. 🌍✨

Strategic alignment for the upcoming YouthConnekt Africa Summit. Our Executive Director, Yann Gwet, met with the CEO of PSF, Rwanda, Callixthe Kanamugire, today to ensure the upcoming continental event delivers real, practical value for young business owners. 🇷🇼🤝

A thriving economy requires active partnership with the private sector. By working directly with PSF, the focus is on bringing young entrepreneurs face-to-face with decision-makers to tackle and remove the real-world barriers that slow down business growth.

Furthermore, this partnership aims to open clear doors for next-generation businesses - leveraging the networks of established corporate leaders to help youth-led companies seamlessly export their goods and services across the continent under the AfCFTA. Real economic integration means clearing the path so businesses can trade across African borders without friction.
