The coffee mornings - a great place to catch up with friends every month, to network, and to make new friends! ‘I find it so useful, when i have a question to come to coffee morning and find out what other families are doing…… like, ‘which dentist is good with kids?’...... or ’which pharmacy sells children’s advil?’...... or ‘where can you buy school shoes?’
The social evenings - a lovely way to meet new people and have a relaxing glass of wine on the way home from work. A great place to hear what is going on, or to ask questions and find service providers and information that you need. The outings - every month we go to surprising and interesting places. We often discover places we had never heard of before on our outings! We have been to schools; women’s cooperatives; furniture factories; jewellery making cooperatives; coffee and tea plantations; Gatagara the pottery village; energy efficient stove factory; the brewery; and many others! Our special events - we sometimes (not nearly frequently enough!!), have special events like Valentine’s Day Dinner….. if you have an idea please let us know, because we love a good ‘knees up’!!!! (If you want to organise a St. Patrick’s Day; Halloween; or any excuse for a party, please get in touch.) Our BIG events - every year we organise 2 big events, which take an enormous amount of planning and we have our busy bees working all year round on creating these fun and calendar stopping events! We have our annual CHRISTMAS FAIR and our INTERNATIONAL FOOD FAIR every year…. and every year they get bigger and more extravagant. Remember you can get your tickets ahead of time to avoid disappointment! Numbers are limited at the venues for safety reasons. Newsletters - it is our newsletter and our fabby fab journalistas that keep us together! They let us know what is going on, keep our calendars in order, and keep us in touch. Sponsorships - All of the money we raise is for small local projects and all of it donations from our own members. When we organise an outing or special event all members give a small donation (usually RWF 2000 per person). When we organise a big event like our INTERNATIONAL FOOD FAIR, we try to get as much donated as possible so that almost every cent goes to our Charity Committee which administers the ‘good things’ we do. None of our members are salaried, we have no paid or subsidised staff. Be the change you want to see! - come and join in…… if you want to organise something, please come and join us…. we are always up for some fun!
