Last Saturday, the Youth Bridge Program held its third English session, focusing on understanding basic English rules and applying them to communicate clearly and effectively.

Through these sessions, we continue to empower young people with essential language skills, build their confidence, and open doors to new opportunities.

Empowering Pupils to Learn, Grow, and Succeed!

Root Foundation is proud to launch the Umuzi Project in partnership with Tumba Primary School and Umubano Impore, beginning with an intensive two-day training for the dedicated volunteers who will mentor, train, and support pupils in Huye District.

Through personal development coaching, extracurricular activities, and Learning to Learn sessions focused on concentration, focus, goal setting, and effective learning strategies, the project aims to help pupils facing academic challenges unlock their potential and improve their classroom performance.

Building on the encouraging results achieved in previous years at Cyendajuru Primary School, we believe that every child can make progress when given the right guidance, encouragement, and support.

Together, we are going beyond the classroom to nurture confidence, strengthen learning skills, and create opportunities for every pupil to thrive. Because every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and reach their full potential!

Scholarship Update!

Today, our Scholarship Team visited some of our partner schools to clear school fees and check in on the discipline and well-being of our scholars.

We’re happy to share that 90% of the school fees for our day scholars has been cleared, with boarding school fees next. This year, 67 scholars are benefiting from the Root Foundation Scholarship, and we’re grateful that Term 1 is covered!

A big thank you to Root Foundation Germany, Benton Yang Foundation, and all our individual donors for making this possible.

Future Leaders Cohort 2026/27 | Session 2: Emotional Intelligence.

Our new Future Leaders Cohort had an insightful second session on Emotional Intelligence, led by Fred.

Emotional intelligence goes hand in hand with effective leadership. It is about understanding yourself and others, recognizing emotions, understanding what triggers them, and learning how thoughts and emotions influence our behavior.

Through this session, our young leaders explored how to manage emotional responses, connect emotions with logic, and respond wisely rather than react impulsively, They are building essential skills in self-awareness, self-control, empathy, healthy relationships, and better decision-making.

We believe that great leadership begins with the ability to understand and lead yourself.
