Over the years, we have observed that women and girls are often held back by limiting beliefs and traditions. That is why we, as an institution, emphasize the importance of self-awareness and self-confidence. These qualities can help break free from what is "conventionally expected" of women and girls. A changed mindset is essential for reshaping future generations and overcoming decades of discouraging beliefs.

The learning doesn't stop! In continuation of the capacity building session on 13 Women and Girl Led Organisations, YWCA is conducting a 2-day session on Proposal writing!!

These days will be spent diving into the nuts and bolts of one of the most essential skill for all WGLOs.

Day One focused on:
🔹 What makes a strong proposal
🔹 Common proposal gaps and mistakes to avoid
🔹 Problem analysis and root cause identification
🔹 The ideal structure of a winning proposal
🔹Types of proposals

The training combined both theory and practice, allowing participants to work through real-life scenarios, apply proposal-writing concepts, develop problem trees, and strengthen every key section of a proposal.

And we're not done yet—today, the learning continues! 🚀

Today’s training on policy engagement and advocacy was powerful, engaging, and full of insight! We explored the state of advocacy in Rwanda, reflected on the roles of CSOs and government in important issues like mental health and teenage pregnancies.

One major takeaway stood out: real advocacy is not just about addressing the visible effects of a problem — it starts with understanding the root cause! With research, evidence, collaboration, and strong partnerships, we can move from identifying challenges to creating lasting solutions.

Advocacy cannot be achieved alone! It is a collective effort, and together, we can spark the change our communities need.

This is initiative is made possible in partnership with .rwanda , and with funding from the through , under the
(WGF) programme for Women and Girl-Led Organizations (WGLOs).
