Today, AKWOS joins the nation in honoring the memory of the lives lost during the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. We stand in deep solidarity with survivors, especially the women whose courage and resilience have been the foundation of our country’s rebirth.

For us at AKWOS, sports have always been more than a game they have been a bridge to healing, a tool for reconciliation, and a platform for unity. As we remember, we reaffirm our commitment to nurturing a generation of empowered women and girls who carry the torch of “Never Again.”

On November 26th, AKWOS kicked off the 16 Days of Activism to end gender-based violence with a powerful sports event in Rubavu. 🔶⚽️

Our slogan, “Rubavu Women Sport Clubs for Peace Take a Stand,” brought together 249 women, 161 men, and local leaders to champion gender equality and raise awareness on family conflicts and the growing issue of street children. 🤝🏾
