More than 100 partners and friends of FES Rwanda came together last week in our closing event. Together we reflected on joint milestones achieved and on the way forward without FES presence in Rwanda. The event ended with a celebration of fruitful partnerships and collaborations.

Due to economic challenges in December 2024 the FES board decided that – among other offices – FES Rwanda will have to close its office until the end of October 2025. This decision was not made lightly, but was unfortunately necessary, given the current situation.

Throughout our time here, FES Rwanda has been privileged to work alongside many of you from governance and social justice to economic empowerment and gender justice. These collaborations have not only advanced shared goals but have also built lasting relationships rooted in trust and mutual commitment.

While this chapter is closing, it is also an opportunity to look forward with hope and optimism. The spirit of partnership, dialogue, and shared purpose that has characterized our work remains vital. We are confident that the foundations laid will continue to inspire and inform future efforts, and that the collaborations we have built will endure beyond our physical presence here.

We want to express our deepest gratitude to our partners, friends, and supporters for their unwavering commitment, their trust, and the shared vision of a just and inclusive world. Their dedication has been the driving force behind our initiatives.

In the context of the office closure, our social media channels will be deactivated in the coming weeks. Thank you for your support and engagement. If you want to stay connected with FES, please follow
